Talking Hell freezes over: Whoopi Goldberg decries anti-Palin vitriol

    Whoopi Goldberg Decries Anti-Palin Vitriol
By Justin McCarthy (Bio | Archive)
    October 15, 2008 - 13:45 ET
Sarah Palin found an unlikely voice defending her from constant vicious attacks on the left, "View" co-host Whoopi Goldberg. On the October 15 edition, in sharing her experience meeting John McCain and Sarah Palin, Elisabeth Hasselbeck expressed regret about all of the hate the Alaska governor recieved and added, "she’s a good woman and regardless of what you think, she is."

Whoopi Goldberg surprisingly concurred noting past attacks on Hillary Clinton, decried such attacks on Sarah Palin observing a pattern of vitriol towards strong women. When Joy Behar attempted to play the equivocation game, holding Governor Palin responsible for words from one random supporter, Whoopi replied "that doesn’t justify crappy behavior from anybody."Whoopi continued noting "everybody when you meet them has something redeeming." Joy then retracted with a weak, "I’ll accept that."

If "The View" moderator did not surprise enough, she countered Joy when Joy blamed the "mess" on Bush and Republicans. Whoopi declared "all of Washington has a hand on this," reminding Joy that Democrats controlled Congress for the last two years and neither party has "been able to get jack booty done."

Good on you, Whoopi. I still love you in the Color Purple.

Uh, people attack Palin because she's an idiot It's not some fear of a strong woman. She says stupid things, and the stupid things she says are lies. She doesn't read, she's not informed, she doesn't know foreign policy, she doesn't know economics, she doesn't even know domestic issues.

She told Katie Couric she'd get back to her on a simple softball question. That isn't a strong woman.

There's a big difference between going after Clinton and Palin.

    Clinton isn't a moron.

"everybody when you meet them has something redeeming."

I dont like Palin for the issues that she stands on and what she represents-
This past week or so has been disgusting at the rallies.

She also uses her sex to get away with her stupidity and incompetence, that to me makes all the women before her who worked hard for their postion/jobs a joke- if there was someone who was clearly more experienced and actually made sense I would have respect them.

Yes, I know what the story is and am a big Alice Walker fan, especially her short story 'The Revelation'. I would love the movie and story regardless of who starred in it.

Yeah, everybody with a brain is going to be screaming in disbelief that "i'll get back to you" Sarah would be one stroke away from the button.

She can't even keep a grip on her own trash family, how the hell is she gonna run a country. You can't fuel an economy with 'You Betcha!'"s

I can't believe Hasselbeck called Palin "a good woman"! She does not have one redeeming quality, as far as I can tell. She is a bigoted, bible-thumping, closed-minded, hateful, superstitious (witch doctor, anyone?), stupid woman. She needs to get lost in the Alaskan wilderness and be ripped to shreds by the survivors of her aerial hunting campaign.

Our entire world is in for a "world of hurt" if this moron ever gets out of Alaska to a national office. She is not even fit to be a national leader of a PTO.

Jessie Jackson said our relationship with Israel would forever change once Obama became president. Wonder if there really are that many Mel Gibsons out there in the celebrity world, those that blame our being in Iraq on the Jewish people?

Oops what did I say, quick everyone stick your head in the sand again, another Obama revelation just got out. Joy, Babs your boy doesn't like Jewish people what are you thinking?
