Miley Cyrus Is Not Dead: Rumor Busting

Reports that Miley Cyrus has died in a car crash are false, with the Disney star the victim of an internet prank. See where it started here.
A news article, complete with poor spelling and made to look like a published article on Yahoo News, spread across the internet after the story allegedly broke last Friday (September 5).
Following the false announcement, fans started to upload tribute videos to You Tube, with some pouring out their grief and compiling montages of Cyrus.
However, the 15-year-old attended Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards debunking the rumors of her death.

Last Friday night my 14 yo daughter started getting text messages about this. Then there were tons of tributes on Facebook. I told her to go to a real news outlet and sure enough there were no reports. It is sick that someone could start something like this.

Didn't this exact same thing happen in regards to Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake in 2001 or so, when they were still together? Some radio DJ in America began circulating rumours that they had died in a car crash.

It's funny, though: I heard immediately about the rumour that Britney and Justin had died, and not a peep in regards to this rumour about Miley Cyrus.

It's terrible how ridiculously famous people who take half naked pictures of themselves and purposely spread them around to form a lolita facade have this happen to them!
