Christina Applegate wants a baby before Chemo

Christina Applegate is trying to stay positive after the terrible news that she's battling breast cancer. So she's reportedly decided to have a baby, since she's been wanting to for a very long time, Star Magazine reports.

Before she was diagnosed, Christina told a reporter that she didn't want to wait until her mid-forties to have a baby, and that her biological clock was ticking.

Christina has also decided to put off her chemotherapy until after giving birth. She apparently plans on getting pregnant with musician Martyn Lenoble, whom she's been dating for a few months.

Then Christina will start the treatment after giving birth so she doesn't expose her body to chemo or radiation. What do you think of Christina's plans to compromise her own health for the sake of having a baby?

It's one thing if you find you have breast cancer when you're already pregnant, but to put off treatment while waiting to get pregnant...I hope this is story is BS, because that is just crazy.

I get the impression from the article that she doesn't feel she can't have kids but doesn't want to expose the child to the radiation or chemo prior to the birth. Either way I hope this is BS too. If it were me I wouldn't be waiting around and delay treatment. But that is just me.

There's no excuse for this with her family history. I read she and her Mom have the gene that causes breast cancer AND ovarian cancer, her Mom had both. She needs to get her eggs stored somewhere and get some treatment promptly. They said being pregnant increases estrogen which can encourage the cancer cells.

She wasn't trying to have his baby before she knew she was ill.

I doubt her doctors would agree to treat her since as mentioned cancer grows much more aggresively due to the increase in hormones. Maybe she's planning on harvesting eggs before surgery and chemo. This sounds like total tabloid bs to me.

Hmmmm... a questionable decision. Really depends on the severity of her breast cancer. I've read stories about decisions like this that did not end good. But then again, there are always those against the odds stories too.

Whatever she decides, I hope she talks with her doctors a TON before doing anything.
