Yup, totally. He's probably just hanging out with Elvis.
I've put this is Gossip because it's pure speculation but interesting. (Mods please move if necessary)
Fossett may still be alive: investigators
July 28, 2008 - 4:32PM
Steve Fossett, the millionaire adventurer who went missing in a light plane over a US desert last year, may still be alive, investigators say.
Fossett disappeared last September during a flight over the Nevada desert and, despite a massive search, his body and plane have never been found.
The failure to find any trace of Fossett has sparked speculation he may have faked his own death.
Lieutenant Colonel Cynthia Ryan, of the US Civil Air Patrol, said Fossett could still be alive.
"I've been doing this search and rescue for 14 years. Fossett should have been found," she is quoted as saying by London's Telegraph newspaper.
"It's not like we didn't have our eyes open. We found six other planes while we were looking for him. We're pretty good at what we do."
Fossett's disappearance prompted the biggest search in American history, with the Civil Air Patrol using infra-red technology, backed up by private planes and internet experts scanning the Nevada desert for clues.
Investigators have questioned Fossett's financial situation, his choice of a light aircraft for the flight, and the fact he left his global positioning system watch at home.
Risk assessor Robert Davis conducted an investigation for insurers Lloyd's of London, which is said to face a 25 million pounds sterling ($52 million) payout on Fossett's death.
"I discovered that there is absolutely no proof that Steve Fossett is actually dead," he said.
"I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I'm a man who deals in facts, and I don't really care if he is alive or dead, it make no difference to me.
"What I am interested in is the truth - and a proper criminal investigation of this man's disappearance was never undertaken by law enforcement or officials in the state of Nevada."
Fossett, an aviator, sailor and record-breaking balloonist, was declared legally dead in February.

Yup, totally. He's probably just hanging out with Elvis.
"I discovered that there is absolutely no proof that Steve Fossett is actually dead," he said.
And there's no proof that he's alive, either. Face it, he's gone the way of Amelia Earnhardt.
I think he's dead. Not being able to find the plane doesn't mean he's not dead. That place is huge, the plane could have crashed anywhere. The fact he left his global positioning system watch at home makes me think he killed himself.
They found 6 planes while they were looking for his???
I don't want to assume anything here, but would those
other planes have been found sooner if they had millionaires
on board?
She is such a useless shit stain on the panties of humanity~Bitter's awesome description of K.K
I dunno - cause they still haven't found his. Still, they are good at what they do, and their devils at whipping up a press release too.
I say that Fawcett is on the lamb with Oliva Newton John's former boyfriend. maybe he was about to get called up in the Follieri case or something??
They asked people to help look for the plane using Google Earth if I remember. They gave the approximate coordinates of where he could have flown in that timeframe. The only problem is that many Google Earth images, while fantastically clear, are often very out of date. The pic of our house/street is at least 3 years old.

I dunno about this one.
Part of me loves the conspiracy thing, and its not beyond impossible that he may have faked his death, but WHY? Financial issues??
And how did he get out of the desert? Someone would have had to know about this, to 'get him' you know? Or, maybe he preplanned it and hid some supplies in the desert himself....this would be a large undertaking for sure though.
But, the other part of me is very suspect of it all, and from all accounts, he seemed like he loved life, and being the big thrill seeker. And he died while doing what he loved..

Come on, let's have lots of drinks.
That's what popped into my head. It makes me sick to think that might be so.
That's how I feel. I love conspiracy theories, but am totally aware they're often concocted by members of the Tin Foil Frequent Buyers Club, and they're usually full of misinformation. Still, they're fun aren't they?
Do you by any chance know where he is? We were supposed to meet in 2000, but he stood me up. I even created a holiday for you Jim! (I forget what I called it, but I always replaced Christian holidays with my made-up rock star memorials. I was a strange child, but damn could I entertain myself, and I got my friends to go along with it too.)
ANYWAY, I found this quote made by Robert Davis (from the posted article) interesting:
"I'm not a conspiracy theorist, I'm a man who deals in facts, and I don't really care if he is alive or dead, it make no difference to me."
While I understand his point in saying that the way he did, it just sounds wrong to me. I don't know the guy (Steve Fosset), and it won't make an impact on my life either, but dude, he's a human being who left behind a family. That just seemed a bit distasteful. It's not like Robert Davis is a member of GR. If so, I would expect that. Actually, I would expect "Dead Yet?"
oh come on; sounds a little silly and 'out there' even to me! the guy was fat; he prolly had a heart-attack in mid air and crashed head on into the ground somewhere. it was bound to happen.
And Amelia Earhart.![]()

Totally...but conspiracies are fuuuun. Interesting article all the same, nice change from the celeb shit.
