I'm not much for awards, but if he really deserves it, I think it would be awesome if Heath won an Oscar. It could be given to Matilda when she gets older. What a great keepsake that would be for her.

Michael Caine believes Heath Ledger gave an Oscar-caliber performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight, which opens July 18.
"I just watched him and talked to him for three days and I thought he was extraordinary," the actor told Usmagazine.com when he was honored with a cement block with his hand and footprints at the historic Grauman's Chinese Theatre in Hollywood Friday.
"I think he'll get a posthumous Oscar nomination at least," Caine, 75, told Us.
Ledger– who died at age 28 of an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in January – will be honored in the end credits of the film.
"I didn't have a scene with him," said Caine, who plays Alfred Pennyworth. "He was in a scene in the picture which I was in but he never spoke to me in the scene – it was a big party."
Ledger has been receiving rave reviews for his role.
Rolling Stone critic Peter Travers said, "I can only speak superlatives of Ledger, who is mad-crazy-blazing brilliant as the Joker.
"If there's a movement to get him the first posthumous Oscar since Peter Finch won for 1976's Network, sign me up," Travers added.

Carrie: What kind of impotence do you think it is? Charlotte: The kind that makes it soft. (Sex and the City)
Of course. Hollywood is sentimental that way. That won't negate it's value if it's deserved and I think it will be if all the reactions of those who have seen it are to be trusted.
Don't fear the reefer..
Oh geez, no offense and I think it'll be a great performance but can they lay off the 'Oscar nomination/greatest performance ever" schtick already? This has to be the greatest PR gift the makers of this movie have ever had. The buzz alone is unbelievable on this film, as Fandango reports massive pre sales for shows next week, so much so that they are having 6 A.M. showings.
If it is truly deserved, I hope he gets it. What a shame, another promising career done. James Dean, Bruce & Brandon Lee, Aaliyah, now Heath. All gone beofre their time, and all were on the brink of superstardom. Well in JD's case he was already a big star, but could have been so much more.
