Florence Henderson: I told Christopher Knight not to marry Adrianne Curry
Florence Henderson: I told Christopher Knight not to marry Adrianne Curry

Former Brady Bunch child star Christopher Knight still has a friendly relationship with the actress who played his mother on the 70s sitcom staple, Florence Henderson, 74. Henderson is a certified hypnotherapist and reminds us that she advised Knight, 50, not to marry his third wife, model Adrianne Curry, 25, but said he obviously didn’t take her advice. Knight and Curry met on the VH1 reality show The Surreal Life in 2005 and later chronicled their courtship and wedding on the follow-up show My Fair Brady.
Henderson says she didn’t want to do reality television, but that didn’t stop her from making a guest appearance on My Fair Brady. She says she told Knight and Curry not to get married, but that they went and did it anyway and adds “Maybe I will counsel the divorce.” What I find telling about Henderson’s comments is that she doesn’t refer to Curry by name and simply calls her “this person.” Florence Henderson says that while her former TV son Christopher Knight has lived his life in front of the cameras the past few years, “reality [TV] is not for me.”
“It’s a double-edged sword,” Henderson said of shedding an iconic role. Henderson, 74, spoke to reporters on Tuesday at the Television Critics Association press tour in Los Angeles, where she was promoting her upcoming Hallmark Channel film Ladies of the House.
“It can be difficult to move on,” said the former Brady Brunch mom. “Christopher Knight is like my son and he was very involved with this person on The Surreal Life,” she says referring to model Adrianne Curry. “He asked me to counsel them – I am a certified hypnotherapist – but I didn’t really want to do reality TV.”
Henderson appeared on the couple’s VH1 show My Fair Brady, which she says seemed to steer the couple into an engagement. “They didn’t take my advice at all! And as you may have seen, they did get engaged and they did get married,” she says. “Maybe I will counsel the divorce.”

Duh, she told him not to marry her on national TV. This is news?
BTW, how does being a certified hypnotherapist qualify anyone to be a counselor? Was she going to hypnotize him into thinking she was counselling him?

^I thought so at first too but he's no better than she is. Please, he's managed to be on, what, three reality shows? He's allowed his entire late 40s to be televised. You'd think by then you'd have better judgement and more common sense.

Be fair here Bella - the Brady kids did not get residuals from all their years on the show. That was not in place back then. He has to make a living now and doubt he knows how to do anything else - LOL

^^Exactly. What choice did he have? They'd probably both be unemployed if they hadn't married and gotten the reality show gig.

It's not too smart to get too involved in someone else's marriage or suggest they're going to get a divorce, no matter how much you can't stand one of them or what you think. It's just inappropriate. He's an adult now and if he wants to marry some random twatwaffle he can.

Actually I read he was in computers for a very long time. Not everyone needs a million dollar pay check. He could have stuck with that. Either he sold out for money or he's just a fame ho. Either way, he's no saint.

Ummm...how about getting a regular job like the rest of the world? Having been on TV once doesn't make that impossible unles you are just a fame addict and refuse any other lifestyle. I didn't realize the choices were be on reality TV or starve.

Actually, Christopher Knight had a very successful computer-related career:
An interest in science and machines led Knight to a career in the computer industry in 1988. His celebrity status helped him to hone skills in sales and marketing. Entering the industry as an account sales manager at Martec, Inc., he logged the company's first US$1 million sales order within his first eighteen months, quickly becoming Martec's top performer, and employee of the year.
He went back to his Brady roots in the 1988 Brady Christmas movie, A Very Brady Christmas.
In October 1989, Knight became vice president of design system marketing and sales at New Image Industry, moving the company into 3D rendering/imaging technologies. Then in mid 1991, he, and a few other key employees successfully moved the software engineering staff and the 3D technologies into a new privately held company, Visual Software. As co-founder of Visual Software, Knight was an early participant in the consumer 3D graphics market. His efforts led to business success, seeing the company move from $400,000 in annual sales to $4.2 million within 10 months. Visual Software was acquired by Micrografx in January.
In late 1995, Knight partnered with friend and associate Frank Paniagua, and founded Kidwise Learningware, a producer of interactive edutainment products for children. Knight served as executive producer.
In February 1996, he became the vice president of sales at Adesso, a computer keyboard manufacturer. Within his first 4 months sales doubled.
Knight and Paniagua reunited in August 1997 at Integrated Micro Solutions (I.M.S.) which later became IXMICRO. Initially hired as vice president of strategic marketing, Knight was promoted to vice president of marketing four months later. Annual sales went from less than $2 million in early 1997 to $63 million in 1998.
In late 1998 Knight, Paniagua and an associate, David Smith, formed Eskape Labs. The three had been part of IXMICRO's executive staff, but sensed a shift in the focus of computer technology from personal computers to intelligent devices. With a mission to provide "on wire" digital appliances that easily plug into computers, Eskape has developed a number of first-to-market video devices. The company was purchased by Hauppauge Computer Works in the summer of 2000. Hauppauge is the world's largest manufacturer of computer based TV tuner products and, with Eskape Labs, now has a line of TV tuners that are Macintosh compatible.

Well, if he was so successful, why'd he agree to be on The Surreal Life? Fame ho indeed.

Oh well, I still like Mrs. Brady. Supposedly she is a distant relative of mine.
