Default Bindi Irwin getting her own doll

Not sure what kid will want it, but maybe I don't have a good tap on the whole doll buying 'scene'

I think it is a good idea. At least she is not smothered in make up and can have "adventures". The animals she comes with sound pretty neat. I don't have a daughter *sob* but I think little girls might just like this one.
Beats the hell out of those scary Bratz.

Here is the article for the folks who don't like clicking links:

Bindi Irwin gets her own doll

The Emmy-winning daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin is getting her own doll.

The 10-inch Bindi Irwin doll sports khakis, puffy pigtails and hiking boots, and comes with binoculars, a camera and other outback gear, as well as a cockatoo, wombat and python.

A talking version of the Bindi doll uses such phrases as, "Crikey! Let's go help wildlife," and "You can make the world a better place."

The rubber dolls will cost $15 to $20, with a portion going to help fund efforts to breed endangered species and rescue animals. They are expected to be in stores in September.

Wild Republic, a division of K&M International Inc., based in Twinsburg, Ohio, is developing the doll. The company marketed a Steve Irwin doll several months after the Australian TV show host died in September 2006 from a stingray barb that pierced his chest.

Bindi Irwin's career began with appearances on her father's shows and later expanded to live music performances and child-fitness DVDs.

"Bindi the Jungle Girl," a child-friendly version of her father's show, began in June 2007 on the Discovery Channel. Bindi, 9, won a Daytime Emmy last month for the show and also a Logie, an Australian TV award, in May for most popular new female talent.

I think her mom pimps her out, but yes, this is a much better role model than those damn bratz prostitute dolls.

The doll is cuter than her, that's for sure.

I think it's cute. It seems fun and very age appropriate. It's also a nice change of pace from the recent explosion of those obnoxious Bratz dolls, dressed like whores and accentuating their "fuck me" facial expressions with heavy chola makeup.

I agree with those who say Bindi's doll is much better than the hooker dolls. At least she looks like a young girl and is not promoting fashion, make up and shopping.

Plus I'm inclined to want to stick up for Bindi after reading what some of those horrible pageant moms wrote about her (and Australians in general). Saying she looks 'unwashed' and crap. Guess they'd rather see a 9 year old girl with full make up, a flipper, and booty shorts.

^^ ack did they really say that stuff?!!

I'll buy one but please for the love don't be made in China - I'm so tired of taking toys back.

I like Bindi and I loved Steve, nobody could make me laugh more than him and I learned a lot from watching his show. I watched a Burmese Python eat a goat on his show, I had never seen anything like that before.

I refuse to by Bratz dolls for anyone.. prostatots grrrrr

Agree on it being better than a Bratz doll. Daughters birthday is coming up and I know she will get some (again) and I'll have to make them go away.
Don't worry about what other people think. They don't do it very often.
