Default Scout LaRue Willis (daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis) waxes poetic about life

I suppose the best way to start would be to introduce myself. My name is Scout LaRue, I will be 17 in July, I am a Cancer and a Leo and I live in Los Angeles. I love silk dresses, I am addicted to old films and my favorite channel is TCM. Does it ever feel like our modern society lacks class, that certain je ne sais quoi of decades past? In this age of free city sweat pants, neon fanny packs, silly plastic glasses you can’t see out of, I sometimes despair over the lack of elegance in contemporary dressing and behavior. Where are the manners? The decorum? The etiquette for goodness sake!!?!

To find these things all one has to do is turn on an old movie. My goal for this new endeavor of mine is to present a little bit class with some of my own musings about fashion, movie stars (not the type in People magazine), the movies they made and the glamour they left behind.

Everyday I try to inject a little bit of old-fashioned charm into my life. Be that by watching Gone with the Wind before I go out, talking with a bit of a haughty Southern accent, reading a book on proper table manners, finding the courage to wear those wild Katherine Hepburn pants I bought last summer, or just dressing way up for everyday events.

Recently I began playing game when eating dinner with my family. Each night I dress as a different silver screen star from a certain film and they have to guess who I am and what film I am from. The first night I dressed as one of my most favorite movie stars of all time, Marlene Dietrich, as she appeared in the classic film Morocco. This included tuxedo dress pants, white shirt, tail coat and a top hat to boot. I took on a bit of her persona; I was regal, amused and fascinating. By dressing as Marlene I got some of her confidence as well. It’s about translating the glamour from the screen into every day life, finding your own mystique.

If she's being honest, that's cool - she's just a kid anyway. She's not quite as unfortunate looking as Rumor. But then again, I could say the same about roadkill.

    edit....
I googled the Willis girls and found this on Perez - I always thought a chainsaw to Rumor's chin would be an improvement!

    Truly beautiful!

My my, didn't we all just dip our tongues in some acid today.

Those 2 pictures side by side just make her facial predicament all the more tragic.

I love what she had to say. She sounds like fun!
She's right, we neeed to get some class back.
Everything is so loud. Seems few can speak an entire
sentence without swearing. Many women dress like
utter sluts and guys like total dirty slobs. Grrrr.

I too love to get classy with Gone With the Wind. The classiest part is when Scarlett slaps her slave girl for getting out of control. Or was it when Rett kind of rapes her? That movie has class coming out of its ass. Where to begin?

How many silverscreen actors overdosed or comitted suicide? We'll never know, because they did the classy thing and did it in private, sometimes.

I love the classy way blacks were treated in films. They got to work on classy mansion sets, acting as maids for the classy rich owners.

Remember the classy way actors were forced to stay in the closet? I fear we're losing some of the classiness of staying closeted.

At least actors are still encouraged to take diet pills and starve themselves. We'll never lose that type of class.

Thet era may have had better clothes and more underwear, but I don't know if that equates to more class. Maybe just more style.

If she is looking to class people up, she should start with her older sis.
