Default Ernst Borgnine going on another adventure

I didn't know he was still alive.

Oscar winner Ernst Borgnine is set for another Wild West adventure at the grand old age of 91.

The Wild Bunch star will be back in the saddle for western Death Keeps Coming in a bid to chalk up 200 film appearances before ending his acting career.

He scored his 198th role in TV western Aces 'N' Eights and the new Derek Milton film, which also features Halloween star Dee Wallace, will leave him one short of his goal.

He tells WENN, "I'm waiting for some other stuff (films) to come through from Hallmark (U.S. TV network) and then I'll reach 200 movies. But I hope to make more than 200."

Website MovieHole.net describes Death Keeps Coming as a "supernatural western" about "a mysterious lone gunfighter who rides out of the desert to save an innocent victim of a horrific and terrifying gypsy curse."

And Borgnine insists he'll have no problems getting back on a horse at 91.

He adds, "I was 90 when I made Aces 'N' Eights and I was still getting on a horse. They said, 'Are you really gonna get on a horse?' I said, 'Of course. I'll do it just like Duke (John) Wayne used to do it - get a ladder and climb up and get on! How do you think Wayne used to get up there?'

My friend and mentor Larry Hovis (most commonly known as Sgt Carter from Hogan's Heroes) once accidentally sent me an email he meant to send to Borgnine . At the end it was like, "You're going to outlive us all."

Not so far from the truth, it seems.
