Kim Cattrall: 'don't Let Kids Watch Sex And The City'.
Kim Cattrall: 'don't Let Kids Watch Sex And The City'.... Sex And The City star Kim Cattrall has issued a warning to parents across the world - urging them not to let their kids watch the hit TV show or its new big-screen adaptation.
Cattrall's comments comes after 15-year-old teen sensation Miley Cyrus admitted to being a fan of the Hbo series - and the 51-year-old is disturbed to hear that some parents have been letting their young daughters watch Sex and the City: The Movie.
Cattrall, who plays maneater Samantha Jones, insists the age restrictions are there for a reason - as the content in the film is too racy for youngsters.
She says, "This is not a show made for an eight-year-old, they don't need to know about this stuff... I want to say to women, this is not for all women.
"It's adult entertainment - it's an R-rated film".
And the actress admits that the only time she has vetoed a script was during the TV series, when writers created a storyline that involved her character taking tips on fellatio from a 13-year-old girl.
She adds, "I thought, no, stop - this would never happen unless a woman was insane. And I think that's the only time in the film and TV series that I said, I'm so sorry, but I can't make that work.' And they re-wrote it".

Wow, have their been a lot of parents taking their tots to see the show? I am so enraged that people don't give their kids a chance to be kids. The SaTC writers should be ashamed for even trying to broach 13-year-old fellatio as an appropriate subject for adult titillation.

Sad that it takes the woman who pays Samantha to talk sense to shitty parents and their kids and clue them in to what's age-appropriate.
Why does it seem like more and more people with common sense are "less and less" the ones having kids now?
I haven't heard if lots of underagers have been to the movie, but I've heard plenty of girls talk about being fans of the TV show who are way too young to have been watching it when it ran originally, and even later on in repeats.

I'd never watch the show myself, because it sucks, let alone kids watching it... that's screwed up.

I bet Miley's camp will find some way to spin it to make it HBO's and/or Sex and the City's fault that poor Miley was duped into watching and enjoying it.

Billy Ray already spun it. He said he only lets her watch the TBS version of the show...with no nudity or foul language. The episode are practically cut in half. But still...you'd have to be a pretty dumb teenager to not understand the sexual undertone in every episode.

Kim's right. There is no way on earth it's suitable for young kids.

um I watched it at like 14 (it's not that my mother let me, but I did anyway) and wasn't traumatized, I don't really see the big deal. It never made me want to go out and act out any of what I saw. Now letting an 8 year old watch it is a completely different story.

I probably would have watched it at 14 since I was reading some pretty racy stuff at that age but no way would I knowingly let my kid watch it at that age, just like my mum wouldn't have let me. Kids will see thigns they shouldn't but that doesn't mean adults need to sanction it. An eight year old watching it? Give me a break. Give her a bucket and spade and be done with it.

Took my 17 year old sister to see it with me. Just not that big a deal. More obscene things happen in middle school than anything shown in the movie.

17 isn't a kid though. The legal age over there may be 18 but a 17 year old is no child.

I let my 14 watch it on regular TV where it has been edited. I had never seen it when it was on HBO and was shocked when I saw some episodes on DVD. I hadn't realized HBO got away with the language and content. I would not want my daughter seeing the unedited versions. I saw the movie. It is rated R for a reason. I was shocked that Kim and Cynthia did nude scenes.
