Selena Gomez, star of the Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, plans to practice abstinence until marriage, reports Extra.
The 15-year-old tween sensation, who’s on the fast track to becoming the new Miley Cyrus, has declared she won’t be having sex until marriage.
Selena declared, “I said, ‘Dad, I want a promise ring.’ He went to the church and got it blessed. He actually used me as an example for other kids. I’m going to keep my promise to myself, to my family and to God.”

Why do they think that this is a such a wonderful thing? Firstly if theres a guy who is not getting it, he masturbates himself into a coma, or gets sex from other girls and all the new bride gets is a guy who has been in a coma and stds from other women.

If they want to do that then fine. They have to realise it can be a bit silly releasing a statement about that though, as it can easily come back to bite them in the behind. Like it did with Britney!

It isn't anyone's business what she does with her sexuality. Frankly, I think this pr move is too played out, and usually comes with a backlash. But if she chooses to remain a virgin until marriage, then good for her.

Good for her if that's really what she wants to do, but why talk about it publicly? Is it really necessary? It will just backfire and make her look bad later on, if she doesn't go along with this and maintain that "good-girl" image.
