Some of her contemporaries who, to my knowledge, have not had
PS either. Two of them are singers, so they may not have smoked:

    Nichelle Nichols, Sept. 26, 2007 born 1934

    Shirley Jones, Sept, 18, 2007 born 1934

    Julie Andrews, Jan. 28, 2007 born 1935

    Liv Ullman, Sept. 28, 2007, born 1939
Warren Beatty: actor, director, writer, producer.

    ^^
I'd say Liv Ullman is the only one who hasn't had ps here - I can't imagine a 70+ woman with no sign of hooded skin above her eyes

I can, again in my family. I used to have more hooded
eyelids when I was a child and in my teens. The older I
got, the bigger (the folds in) my eyelids became. Same
thing for my mom and some of her sisters.

I guess you mean like Liv Ullman - It's a tell tale sign when the eyes are more open on aged people - Julie Andrews looks really plastic here btw.

I agree however that Bardot aged badly, but it's more due to genes than her way of life, her wrinkles aren't the problem, it's the amount of facial fat sliding down that is the most damaging - Some people are wrinkled as prunes and still good looking - old Asian women who have always worked outdoors for instance

You can never compare black women with white, they always always always age better unless they abused themselves in some way. Yes BB looks awful, but she doesn't give a damn. I'm so sick of looking at the Joan Collins, Joan Rivers of the world. They look just as freaking weird in a different way.

^^ I agree, these tightened women have now become the norm when they are not, they're the ones who look weird. Whenever I see an old woman who's been heavily face lifted I can't tear my eyes away, they usually look so awful, like they're from another planet.
Brigitte Bardot has spent her life doing something beyond obsessing over her looks, she just doesn't couldn't care less.

Audrey Hepburn was always lovely, even when she was older:

And I've always thought Helen Hayes was, like, the prettiest little old lady EVER.

In Bardot's defence, though: Audrey unfortunately died at
10 years younger than Bardot is now..... But true: she never
had PS either, and was quite a heavy smoker, too.

Yes, that's true...she was younger than Bardot is now....but Hepburn and Ingrid Bergman were both heavy smokers who didn't age prematurely. Also, Hepburn was suffering from stomach cancer, and still had some ethereal, luminous quality nobody before or since has ever matched.

This thread made me do a bit of research on BB.

It seems that she has suffered from depression since she was young and tried to commit suicide a few times......

Long prone to depression, Bardot has attempted suicide multiple times. "I really wanted to die at certain periods in my life. Death was like love, a romantic escape. I took pills because I didn't want to throw myself off my balcony and know people would photograph me lying dead below." On her 26th birthday she attempted her most publicly known suicide attempt, swallowing a bottle of sleeping pills and slitting her wrists.

    Brigitte Bardot

If she's been on anti-depressants for a long time it could be the reason for her weight problem.

Also she has had breast cancer and is a breast cancer survivor.

So it looks like her overall deterioted appearance from when she was younger isn't totally just bad lifestyle but ill health as well.

Well, I don't see why it matters if someone has plastic surgery or not, as long as it doesn't look terrible like Joan Rivers or Michael Jackson? I do think that that smoking has added about 10 years to her face, I honestly thought she was 90.

Age happens. It's your heart and feelings that count. Your life becomes richer inside as you grow older, and your looks in the mirror become less important. If you are happy inside. And keep your sense of humor. And keep gossiping!!!!

that's so true. i remember seeing hepburn in person when i was 12 or 13 and she was absolutely radiant in person. not a drop of make-up, simple clothes, no big jewelry and i guess she was probably already sick then but the woman just had an aura.
