Default Brooke Smith talks about her 78-hour labor with daughter Fanny

Actress Brooke Smith joined the women of The View today, and co-host Joy Behar couldn't help asking the 41-year-old about her decision not to have an epidural when she gave birth to daughter Fanny, 5.
J: Now what is up with the fact that you were in 72 hours of labor and turned down an epidural. Why?
B: I don't know what my point was. 78 by the way. I just figured women have been giving birth for a long time. And I survived and recovered like that [snaps fingers].
Brooke and her husband, Russian cinematographer Steve Lubensky, recently welcomed their second daughter, Lucy Dinknesh, 7 months.

I did 72 hours standing on my head.

^It means vagina in the UK too. Ridiculous name to give a child.

The awful name was her revenge on the baby for the long, hard labor.

That's a hideous name. I know plenty of mothers who never had epidurals, and they seemed to 'bounce back' so to speak, quicker than those who had them.

It's bad enough the kid got her fugly genes, why add that name? I agree that it was revenge.

    Dear Brooke,

    Here's the medal you wanted!

    Love,
    Lily

I know it's all individual decisions and stuff but electing not to have an epidural when giving birth is like electing not to have anesthetic when going to the dentist. Unnecessary.

I didn't have anything to prove so I had the epidural and I bounced back a lot quicker than women who decided to needlessly torture themselves.
