Nicole Richie and Joel Madden take baby Harlow to the park

Motherhood clearly suits socialite Nicole Richie given the size of the smile on her face.
The Simple Life star, 26, beamed with happiness as she took her four-month-old daughter Harlow for a day in an Los Angeles park with boyfriend Joel Madden.

Good Charlotte frontman Joel is back in LA with Nicole after he went on a European and North American tour just weeks after Harlow's birth on January

The new parents took their cute daughter out for a stroll in the spring sunshine in their local area of Glendale.
Wearing cut-off Paige denim shorts and hippy Kaftan-style top, Nicole look slender and healthy compared to her gaunt frame of previous years.

Style icon Nicole made sure baby Harlow was colour co-ordinated in a lilac two-piece.

Meanwhile, proud Dad Joel - whose twin brother Benji is dating Nicole's best friend Paris Hilton - couldn't take his eyes of the two women in his life.

Joel and Nicole started dating in late 2006 after the rocker ended his two-year relationship with teen singer/actress Hilary Duff and Nicole split from DJ fiance Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein.

Just weeks into their relationship, Nicole was arrested for driving under the influence on her way home from Joel's home in LA.
Last July, she was ordered to serve four days in jail, but only ended up spending 82 minutes behind bars due to overcrowding.
Since becoming a mother, Nicole insists her partying, wild child days are behind her and her daughter has given her a new sense of purpose.

Earlier this month, Nicole gushed: "Everything I do is for her.
"I was so excited from the minute I found out I was pregnant ... and it's been nothing but an amazing ride since.
"Joel actually changes more diapers (nappies) than I do. It's his time with her. He sings to her. He laughs with her, plays with her. It's amazing.
"I feel like my group of five to 10 friends, they really love her, like she's theirs ... My friends never go outside for smoke breaks anymore, they don't curse, they are definitely more demure. It's actually been really interesting."

I saw a little kid with a mohawk the other day. It looked absolutely ridiculous. Of course, I think they look stupid on adults too, so maybe I shouldn't comment.

For as thick a head of hair as he has now, my son was a bald baby. And when his hair started growing in he had more on the top that often stuck up just like this.

Have to admit, that baby is very cute.
