Pregnant Californication star Natascha McElhone's husband was found dead on the doorstep of their London home Tuesday.
Martin Kelly, a plastic surgeon, was 42 and may have died from a heart attack.
McElhone, 36, is carrying their third child. The couple are parents to Theodore, 8, and Otis, 5.
The actress – who also starred in The Truman Show and Solaris – was filming in the U.S. at the time of Kelly's death. She is now returning to London.
"It's still a mystery about the death," Kelly's stepfather Roy Greenslade told UK's Daily Mail. "It's so unexpected. Such a fit, handsome, fighting fit young man of 42. So we are in a bit of a terrible state to be honest."

I doesn't say what time of day he was found. How long was he there before being discovered? Very odd.

Aww - this is sad. Sometimes seemingly healthy younger people have heart attacks because of an obscure defect that has gone undetected. I've known several people (all male) where this has happened. Perhaps that's what happened here.

This was in teh papers today and they suspect he may have picked up a virus that went to his heart. I feel for her...she's pregnant and that cannot be easy to go through this in that state.

I downloaded the entire series on my laptop and I've watched every episode on my ipod twice. It's so freakin great!!!!!!!!!

my dad died of a massive heart attack aged 51. he'd had his yearly check-up (including with a cardiologist), blood tests, etc. 2 months before and there was nothing wrong, no cholesterol, blood pressure was fine.
i've also heard that heart attacks in younger men tend to be more fatal than after their mid-50s
42 is ridiculously young. that's so horrible for his family.
