Is it "normal"? Because I didn't pull shit like this and neither did my friends. The only kids who did crap like this were the super-popular kids who were washed up by the age of 20.

It's not flattering, but in my experience it's normal for girls from age 14 to 30... it's pathetic, IMO, but then again most of them are destined to be washed up anyways.

I feel the same as you. No-one I knew posed for photos like that either. It would have been seen as 'weird' at my school. But that was before the days of myspace etc. Now it seems to be the thing to do. But I don't see it as being a big deal.

From what I see (a friend has a 15 year old who always has her friends over & they all think they are either lesbians or bi) it is pretty much the norm for girls Miley's age - at this time. When I was that age, it was not considered the norml. We also thought that blowjobs were gross, we didn't have every other girl in school knocked up, we had dress codes - the principal could paddle your ass if you misbehaved & make the boys shave any facial hair AT SCHOOL, nobody in my class was on Ritalin - in fact, nobody in school was on Ritalin, ... folks whether we want to admit or not, kids are not the same as we were when we were teenagers. That doesn't mean it's good, it just means they are different. We can thank britters, lilo, miley & their ilk for it, but we're the ones sitting there letting them watch that shit. We're about as responsible for it as they are. My friends daughter brings home books and movies about being a lesbian - I don't know if it's herself or us she's trying to convince that she's an actual lesbian but it seems to me that it's all for attention. If you need a book or movie to tell you how to do it, maybe you're not ACTUALLY a lesbian. Look at me, I'm so different and enlightened, I'm a lesbian. Big friggin' deal...

I seriously find it disgusting.... I guess when I was younger and a bit naive I actually lost friendships because girls I knew started dabbling in stupid shit like this and then some and I just didn't want to accept it.

Now it's normal... which is stupid... but it's a reality... Miley should either close up shop and practice what she preaches or own up to what she does. Doing it on the sly and then crying foul when it gets out is stupid.

Normal? i don't know. I never did stuff like that because it just wasn't who i was, but just about everyone else who i went to school with would do this sort of stuff.
