The "Top Gun" actor is reportedly trying to persuade the star footballer to convert. He had previously tried to convert David's wife Victoria but the Spice Girl proved to be difficult to convince.
A source was quoted by showbizspy.com as saying, "Tom hasn't quite given up on persuading David that Scientology is a life-changing and wonderful thing. But he tends to see David privately. He thinks David is more malleable than Victoria. She is less pliable, stronger and more opinionated."
On related news, Victoria's relationship with Tom's wife Katie Holmes is reportedly under strain because of her unwillingness to be converted.
The source says, "Katie and Tom want to surround themselves with fellow Scientologists these days, and they are distancing themselves from anyone who is not a believer."
"For Tom, a non-believer like Victoria is very dangerous. She is opinionated, strong-minded, privately very against Scientology and has voiced her doubts."

I guess by malleable he means gullible. Dave's already on top of the world, with his 250 mill contract with the LA Galaxy. I'm not sure how Scientology would be a 'life changing experience' for him, except that he would lose his marriage, his career, and his public standing - just like Tom! That's not even considering the vast sums of money he'd lose, by handing them over to Sci. Even Becks couldn't be that malleable.

We just hope that Tom doesn't try to convince him that his son's autism can be cured trough auditing and vitamins - although I'm sure Tom has already made that pitch.
