Whoopi Goldberg: 'Snipes Is A Victim'

Whoopi Goldberg has defended jailed actor Wesley Snipes and insists he has been used to "set an example" to the American people. Last week, the Blade actor was handed a three-year jail term by Florida Judge William Terrell Hodges after, he was convicted of failing to file his taxes for five years.
However, Goldberg is convinced Hollywood stars who break the law are being used as scapegoats by the U.S government in a bid to deter other people from criminal activity.
She says, "This is not unusual. With tax evasion, (the IRS) gets very, very agitated and if you're famous they are putting you behind some kind of bar."

Martha Stewart would probably agree with this statement.

    And Lil Kim.

    And James Brown.

    And Robert Downey Jr.

Good, it's about time they set examples to these celebuturds that they are not above the law. They get away with so much, so what's the harm in actually punishing them once in a while.

There was a man in my small hometown who went to jail for the same reason (although probably for much much less money). No one thought he was a victim.

Everyone in their right mind knows you don't screw with the IRS, or they'll make you sorely wish you hadn't.

You can drive drunk, knock some one down, shoplift, you name it, you get a slap on the wrist. You don't mess with the IRS. They don't care how famous you are.

    He's not a victim.
He set out not to pay taxes on 58 million dollars of income over the course of 5 years.

I don't get to decide what I may or may not pay taxes on neither should he nor any other belligerent idiot who thinks they are above every other tax paper.

Whoopi needs to shut her pie-hole... the man committed a crime... fair enough he didn't kill anyone, but if everyone else has to pay their taxes then Mr Snipes has to aswell.

Is anyone else shocked that she didn't play the race card here?

Just like she defended Michael Vick.

Me thinks Whoopi definitely has black and white vision.
