    This is one of those actors who you may not recognize by name, but you have definitely seen him:

    Stanley Kamel arrives at "Characters Welcome" USA Network celebrates it's Lineup of Stars on April 3, 2008 in Century City, California.

    Former 90210 star Stanley Kamel was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday.

    He was 65.

    The cause of death is unknown.

    Access Hollywood first reported the news.

    Kamel is known for playing Rebecca Gayheart's father on Beverly Hills 90210, as well as for roles on The West Wing, Six Feet Under, Melrose Place, The Golden Girls, Days of Our Lives and Murder One.

    He mostly recently played Dr. Charles Kroger on the USA hit Monk.

    In a statement, a USA rep said, "USA is deeply saddened by the news of Stanley Kamel's passing. Stanley was an amazingly talented and extremely kind man, and an important member of the USA family. He will be sorely missed."

    I remember him from Melrose Place. He played Amanda's boss who killed himself in the D & D office. I know way too much about tv

    Oh man, that sucks. I watch Monk every now and then... I wonder how the production team will handle thi? Monk... Doctorless...

    I loved him in Monk I've seen this actor around in many TV movies and primetime and daytime shows. Kinda confused him with Brad Dourif sometimes, though.

    I totally agree with you witchcurlgirl. It's one of the few shows I watch and his character is a major part of the show. I particularly liked the one where Dr Kroger got a new white noise machine and Monk wanted him to get the old one fixed because the new one sounded different and he agreed. RIP.

    You're right, I didn't recognize his name at all, but as soon as I saw the pic I thought of Monk...

    This is so sad - RIP. I dont know how Monk will handle this change over, it didn't even sit well with me when he got a new assistant - but Natalie has grown on me...

    Oh yeah! Monk is great and I am happy new episodes are upon us. I still watch the reruns - especially when there's a marathon and LOL at his remarks and facial gestures.
