Anne Hathaway's beard, Raffaelo Follieri, was arrested by NYC police today for bouncing a $250,000 check. TMZ reports he's still in the chokey for one misdemeanor count. He's currently being booked. A source said his bank was not even close to covering the check.
Annie, pull a Salma Hayek and get a beard that actually has some money. It's not hard. I'm sure Ryan Gaycrest is in the market for a beard of his own. The $250,000 check probably for something super douchey like a Maserati or a boat. I bet Raffaelo wears tons of Drakkar Noir too. He totally washes his briefs in it.
Actually, the douche probably wrote the check to himself, so he could get a few hundred dollars out of the ATM! We've all done it. We have! Sometimes pay day is too far away and those boots are calling your name today.

Anne H's BF Busted -- Check Mate!

UPDATE: We're hearing that this may be a big misunderstanding. We're told Follieri went willingly with police officers -- no handcuffs -- to work out the check fiasco. His lawyers, we hear, are sorting it out and he is now out of police custody.

Anne Hathaway's Italian stallion was just arrested by NYPD for allegedly bouncing a real big check his ass couldn't cover.

Police tell us Zac Braff-alike Raffaelo Follieri was popped for one misdemeanor count of issuing a bad check -- he's still in police custody, being booked. A source tells TMZ that the check was written for around $250,000, and when the bank said insufficient funds, it wasn't even close. Apparently, the devil wears knock-offs!

That's hardly the end of the bad news for Follieri. A DC court just ordered him to pay almost $250,000 to a PR firm that he still owes for work they did.

Anne Hathaway's Boyfriend Arrested in New York

Anne Hathaway's boyfriend of the past four years, Italian property developer Raffaelo Follieri, was arrested Thursday and charged with trying to pass a bad check, NYPD spokesman Det. Martin Speechley tells PEOPLE.

The check was for around $250,000, says TMZ.com, which first reported the arrest.

Follieri was recently ordered by a Washington, D.C., court to pay a public-relations firm $250,000 for work done on his behalf, the Web site says.

This isn't Follieri's first run of bad press. Last year, the Wall Street Journal reported on billionaire Ron Burkle's lawsuit against Follieri for allegedly squandering $1.3 million in business funds to support his extremely lavish lifestyle. Follieri denied any wrongdoing.

Earlier this year, the Devil Wears Prada star, 25, and Follieri, 29, were seen together at New York's hip hangout, the Waverly Inn. In February 2007, Hathaway told London's Sunday Times that Follieri was a positive influence who helped bring her out of a lengthy depression.

"He's brought out so many positive attributes," she said. "Before I met him, I wasted so much time. I was just annoying and narcissistic and smelled bad. He's protective without being possessive, passionate without needing to show his temper."

Anne has been tight with Georgina Chapman and Harvey Weinstein lately. Word around town is that she’s his new favourite, having tried and failed with Sienna and the Alba Bitch. There is however some consternation about their growing affection, particularly because Harvey and her entrepreneurial and allegedly questionably ethical boyfriend Raffaelo Follieri have supposedly been thick as thieves. Rumour has it, some on Anne’s team don’t want her to get caught as a pawn in a business deal that ends up going sour.

You think Washington is corrupt? Hollywood can run circles around Capitol Hill. But it always confounds me… why people are so willing to believe that politicians are scoundrels but have such a hard time accepting that actors and celebrities are conniving and manipulative and just as dishonest even though they actually ACT for a living, working and surviving and thriving in a town that’s as depraved and as amoral as they come.
