Scott Weiland Booted From Velvet Revolver
Rock supergroup Velvet Revolver have officially axed Scott Weiland as their frontman because the singer isn't "100 percent committed" to the band.
The group has been feuding publicly for the past month, after Weiland missed a string of concerts to attend rehab - and then the frontman announced the end of Velvet Revolver during a Scottish gig on March 20.
His bandmates have since dismissed his comments, prompting a war of words online between Weiland and drummer Matt Sorum. Guitarist Slash recently hinted that the future of Velvet Revolver might not include Weiland, who recently reformed his previous band Stone Temple Pilots.
And now, in a band statement, it appears Weiland has left the group.
The statement reads: "This band is all about its fans and its music and Scott Weiland isn't 100 percent committed to either. Among other things, his increasingly erratic onstage behaviour and personal problems have forced us to move on."
Meanwhile, Stone Temple Pilots are expected to announce their reunion schedule at a press conference at magician Harry Houdini's fabled mansion in Los Angeles next week. The mansion is now owned by producer Rick Rubin.
