Page Six.Com reports that Ashley believes that it wasn’t a lucky break or a lot of work, it was going blonde. The High School Musical star claims the secret of her success was changing her naturally brunette hair color to the lighter shade.

notes that the 22-year-old actress and singer, who plays spoiled, selfish brat Sharpay Evans in the spectacularly popular High School Musical film series says, "It suits my personality. I guess I was a brunette with a blonde personality.” Ashley reveals, "At first it was really shocking and I didn't know what to think, it felt like another person in the mirror. But now I am comfortable with it.”
