Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie refused entry to REM concert

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were left red-faced when they were refused entry to a rock concert.
The Hollywood couple, dubbed ‘Brangelina’ tried to get themselves and a group of friends into the R.E.M. gig at the South by South West festival in Austin, Texas.
Unfortunately, the show’s organizers at the ‘Stubbs’ venue couldn’t accommodate the stars and their entourage, and the group was asked to move on.
Pitt, 44, is in Austin filming the Terrence Malick film, ‘Tree of Life’ starring opposite Sean Penn.
The South by South West music festival kicked off on 12 March and ends 16 March.
The music bash has been a permanent Austin fixture since 1987, and attracts thousands of music fans every year.

It sounds like there just wasn't enough room for the entire entourage.

It's tiring to hear of celebs showing up to events with a bunch of people, and expect to be accomodated (without paying, of course) just because of who they are.

With the way they look, I'd turn them away to. Brad's 70s porn star look just isn't acceptable. I mean, he looks 45.

In absolute total agreement!!!! It just burns my butt when celebs think they can get away with anything simply because they are known faces.

^I'm even more upset over the preferential treatment they receive with the law.

Well, you know ... with all those kids, he might have to take a second job pretty soon. Maybe this is something he could fall back on. He's got the look and the bad acting down pat.

exactly. it is like they live in a world of double standards. what happens to them is generally imo not what happens to us poor peons in life ie: tickets, adoption timeframe (celebs in general not just b and a), and jail time to name just a few. You can't convince me that some of these things are not fasttracked b/c of their celeb. status.

Not to mention all the other perks they receive and assume they'll get, that we know nothing about. Even the adoption timeframe bothers me, because I've known people who spent a long time waiting to adopt a child. Celebs don't make better parents just because their famous. And the jail time is another joke.

    LMAO!
SXSW is meant primarily for music industry scouts. It's a total madhouse, and entry into shows is based on how many people with badges (expensive and usually provided by the record companies to their staff) show up, and then however many people with wristbands they can accommodate (a limited # of these are sold to the public, they get you into shows if there's space), and lastly, people who just show up and pay a steep cover charge. Any show by anyone who's known AT ALL, is practically impossible to get into without a badge these days. To think that Brangelina thought they could just show up to REM --- probably the top show at the whole damned festival-- with a bunch of people and just be let in is LAUGHABLE.

This really makes me kind of hate them, unless they are just totally oblivious about how SXSW works.

I'm glad they turned them away and didn't let them in just because of who they are. If there's no room for 'normal' fans then there should be no room for celebs either.

That story is total BS. Brad called requesting tickets for him, AJ, and some others. He was told tickets could be provided for just him and AJ but there were no other tickets available. Brad said he would get back to them if it was decided just he and AJ would go. Brad didn't call back. They did not go to the concert expecting to be admitted.

Then why did they go at all?

I've been to Stubb's... they're the kind of place that doesn't give two shits about the fact that you're a movie star. That's why a lot of big celebrities don't live in Austin... big egos aren't accommodated.
