Melissa Etheridge takes her kids to the beach

Musician Melissa Etheridge hit the beach in Oahu recently with partner, Tammy Lynn Michaels, and her four children, Bailey 11, Beckett 9, and twins Miller and Johnnie, 1.
Purchasing snorkels and playing in the sand and surf with her babes, you'd never know this 46-year-old mama has had a whirlwind career and a tumultuous last few years. To learn more about this wonder woman, read more.
First, it was the breakup with longtime love and mother of her two oldest children, Julie Cypher. And then, having lost three close family members to cancer, Melissa was diagnosed with breast cancer.

In a Dateline interview, she discussed going through treatment. She said:

It was very hard. It was the hardest thing I've ever done in my life. Chemotherapy tests your sanity. Yet there is an amazing clarity to it that I'm grateful for.

The singer/songwriter has released 10 albums, three of which have gone multiplatinum. And her amazing tribute to Janis Joplin at the 2005 Grammy Awards was inspirational to everyone, especially those with cancer. Bald from chemotherapy, Melissa took the stage and rocked the house.
In 2003, the activist who advocates for gay rights and children's and environmental charities had a commitment ceremony with Tammy. And in 2006, the couple welcomed their son and daughter.
It seems there are plenty of pieces of Melissa's heart.

I love her too, and completely admire her for performing at the Grammys bald. She does look great..and she looks like a normal mom at the beach playing with her family.
