Default Lily Cole resumes filming on Heath Ledger's last movie

A sombre-looking Lily Cole resumed filming on actor Heath Ledger's final film the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, following his tragic death last month.

The flame-haired British model turned actress, resumed filming on location in Vancouver, Canada where the production had been due to move before his untimely death on 22 January.
Ledger's death came just three days after location work in London's Clerkenwell had ended.

Back to work: A sombre-looking Lily Cole, pictured on Sunday, has resumed filming on the set of Heath Ledger's final film, the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, following the production shutdown after his death last month

According to reports in an unusual move, director Terry Gilliam will use three actors to resume Ledger's part in the film he was mid-way through making when he died.
The £15 million fantasy film is believed to involve a supernatural mirror that takes people into different dimensions, allowing director Terry Gilliam to switch between actors.
Gilliam plans to enlist the three big name actors to play various incarnations of Ledger's character.

Lily was seen in Vancouver filming scenes with actor Christopher Plummer, and Heath's role is set to be filled by three A-list stars; Jude Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp

According to Jude Law's spokeswoman, Law, Colin Farrell and Johnny Depp will play the role of Ledger's character, Tony, in the film, subject to negotiation.
Farrell said it was a hard decision to agree to complete Ledger's character Tony in the film, but said that he would "be honoured to be part of that".
He told an Australian newspaper: "It makes me feel uncomfortable to think about it too much and to get into it really here but it's an incredibly painful honour to have, you know, and an honour I wish wasn't bestowed but an honour none-the-less."
"It's about getting Heath's work out there, get his work out there, he's too good for any of his work not to be seen, you know, and I'm really keen and looking forward to doing it and just doing the best job I can do."
It is thought Gilliam, who previously worked with Ledger on The Brothers Grimm, wants to retain the footage shot of the late actor.
Ledger died on January 22 from an accidental prescription drug overdose. He had just finished shooting a third of the movie in London and was about to begin a 40-day shoot in Vancouver, Canada.
Director Terry Gilliam was a close friend of Ledger's and plans to keep in footage already filmed of the actor

Production was suspended immediately after the 28-year-old was found dead in his rented New York apartment.

Shortly after Ledger's death, the film's producers paid tribute to the Australian actor, calling him "a great actor, a great friend and a great spirit".
Ledger was farewelled at a memorial service in Perth a week ago. His former fiancé, actress Michelle Williams, attended, but their two-year-old daughter Matilda was absent.
Williams and Ledger met on the set of Brokeback Mountain, and broke up a four months prior to his death.
The actor had subsequently suffered from insomnia and had been taking sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication. Earlier this month New York's chief medical officer, Charles Hirsch, ruled Ledger died from the combined effects of six prescription drugs.
