Charlotte Church may have been hoping to brighten up her look to mark her 22nd birthday, but it appears her makeover didn't exactly go to plan.


The new mother revealed her new fiery red locks as she stepped out today for low key celebratory lunch with her family.

But with her brassy tresses scraped back tightly off her face, she revealed her unsightly dark brown roots had been overlooked.

Still, the star looked to be in good spirits as she left her local Chinese restaurant with her relatives in tow, including her mother Maria, and of course, her five month old daughter Ruby.


However, her boyfriend, rugby union player Gavin Henson, was noticeably absent from the birthday lunch - he spent the afternoon training with his Welsh teammates ahead of the Six Nations this weekend.

Charlotte recently started a new fitness regime in an effort to shed her baby weight, although any results were hidden underneath her puffy jacket during today's outing.



The singer - who gave birth to Ruby in September - has been inspired watching Henson train for the competition, according to Closer magazine.

A source said: "Charlotte was so motivated by watching Gavin, she's started doing 30 sit-ups a night and is adding one on every time.

"She hasn't let her diet slip and is looking after her body."

Charlotte is also preparing to return to the small screen, according to reports.

The Welsh star has reportedly told TV bosses that she is ready to begin work on another series of her Channel 4 chat show.

She was initially unsure about the future of her television career after giving birth, however she is said to have decided that she does in fact want to make a third series of the popular programme.
A Channel 4 spokesman said recently: "We're in the early stages of planning, but it is looking like Charlotte's show will come back in the summer."

Seriously. Welsh weather is hard on the hair. It rains every freakin' day! A ponytail is the way to go!!

Her needs would be more well served with going back to brown and getting red highlights put in. The new growth is less harsh that way.
