Default Hayden Panettiere "waiting to hear from Hillary Clinton" about saving the whales

Here's one undecided voter who expects to be personally wooed: Heroes star Hayden Panettiere.

The 18-year-old told Us Weekly in its latest issue (on newsstands now) that she was "not yet prepared to say" which candidate she is supporting.

"I had a conversation with Barack Obama," she told Us. "I'm waiting to hear from Hillary Clinton."

The decisive issue for the actress? Saving the whales.

A source tells Us that when she attended a February 1 dinner with Chelsea Clinton, "Hayden made it clear to Chelsea she'll vote for whoever will help save the whales."

    Hayden Panettiere Talks Politics

On the save the whales issue, Hayden Panettiere's views are fairly clear, but when it comes to politics, she's still undecided. “You know, I haven’t really picked who I’m going to support yet," she told E! News.

While attending the Spiderwick Chronicles premiere—and with Super Tuesday looming—the Heroes star was asked whom she would vote for. And while she didn't single out any one candidate, she did admit that she's talking to several contenders from both sides of the fence.

"I have spoken to Barack about the whales and the situation going on there, and I asked him his views on it, and he grew up in Hawaii. He’s got a very wonderful outlook on it. Hopefully later on, [I'm] having a phone call with the McCain party and also in the midst of contacting the Clinton party. I’ll hopefully be hearing from them on the whole situation and what they’re willing to do to stop it."

Can't argue with Hayden's passion to the cause—the girl knows how to hammer a point home. Too bad we think the whale thing might just get bumped by those other pesky problems like health care and the economy.

The Hum - Hayden Speaks for Super Tuesday

Its great that she is passionate about this but there are alot more important issues to think about in a election [like the economy and healthcare] and i am sure the candidates have better things to do with their time instead of having private phone calls with an 18 year old

The only politician that would waste their time to personally woo her would be Bill Clinton, and he wouldn't be looking for a vote.

wow she thinks she's really important doesn't she? I'm sure the candidates have more important priorities right now than taking time out to talk to Hayden about saving the whales.

She comes across as a dumb little twit, doesn't she? I'm glad that she has a personal cause, and it is a legitimately good one, but to think it has precedence over people dying in Iraq, people not being able to afford food to eat...it shows what a spoiled little princess she is. Another one of these rich celebrities who don't have a clue.

After reading the article, I'm pretty much at a loss for words, but this just about sums it up.

She talks as if the whole election is about HER deciding who SHE wants to vote for- with her expecting the candidates to personally pander to her and try to "win" her vote, and attempting to browbeat them into catering to her beliefs (That whole comment about her "making it clear" to Chelsea Clinton that she'd only vote for someone who made saving the whales a priority was mindblowing. I'm surprised Chelsea didn't laugh in her face and then fucking get up and leave.) What an arrogant, manipulative, passive aggressive bitch.

I think this comment made on another website proves how self absorbed and idiotic Hayden Panti-whetever is -

"I like that she expects to get special treatment and a personal phone call from the candidates instead of doing her own research and finding out how Hillary has voted on past enviromental issues to see how she will likely continue to vote, you know, like the rest of us have to do."

Is this kid serious? I'm guessing Hilary has a few things on her plate that need to be taken care of before she gets back to bubble head.

Too much haterz, she is doing what she can to save our precious planet and world. It's not her fault she is rich and famous she is using her fame for good things. While saving the whales thousands and thousands of miles away may seem miniscule, at least it is something more than abusing drugs.

Does anyone else not see that she is already a righteous little madame at a very tender age? I'm all for saving the world but I don't think even Angelina is expecting a personal run-down on policy platforms from the candidates.

Yeah and even Angelina doesn't say "I am waiting to hear back from so and so about this and that before I make my decision." Like, what - they answer to her personally? I'd say, fuck off with your one vote, I have much more pressing things to do than worry about some silly girl. Is she even old enough to vote anyway?

The idealism of youth and its effects on the perception of democracy. I remember those days.

Then Bush got elected, and I realized that it was all a dream! LOL
