Rihanna launched her own umbrella line at Macy's in New York City yesterday.
I just don't get what the point of launching your own umbrella line. Is she the umbrellas designer? Does she come with their color? Size? This is something I would expect Donald Trump to come up with but not Rihanna. I guess she really needs the money.

Brollies and parasols have become something of a fashion item these days.
Kudos to her for being original at least. Does the world really need yet ANOTEHR celeb perfume?

Of course she needs the money! Heavy promotion & poor album sells equates to a broke b1tch. Being styled after other R&B & Pop artist ain't cheap either...

    excerpt from MTV interview:

Whilst we were on set we tracked down the hair stylist responsible for the transformation to get the story behind the snip.
“We wanted to do something different,” she said. “So we came up with this idea and everybody loves it .
“We’ve heard of Victoria Beckham but we actually didn’t copy her. For Rihanna we gave her longer pieces in the front and added highlights to it so we didn’t copy her look – we have our own look going on”
    they heard of Victoria Becham

Yes... & they've also heard of Beyonce.

I hate her & her stylist. Two lying b1tches... like... um.. ok, everyone believes your originality fugg outta here!!

and you're still not Kelis.... BEEYOTCHHHH!!

muthafukk her & them umbarellas! I guess the first launch not going so well
& not a single fuck was given...

I agree, but I don't expect anyone else to relate. I just happen to be an umbrella nut. Love 'em. Have a lot of 'em--leopard, art prints, classic red, antiques with bakelite or crystal handles, clear plastic 'bubble' ones, big black witchy ones, novelty prints, whatever. So if I were a celebrity looking for something to design, I'd leap at the chance to do an umbrella line.

i am an umbrella nut as well. but i'm not into hers just for the fact that they will be WAY outta my price range. i have to make sure they could take being thrown into the back of my car and forgotten. i live in san diego, we dont get a lot of rain.

I've been rocking the parasol since the summer of 2002. I can't believe they're getting trendy. I revived it lol

It's not as bad as I was expecting actually......I thought it would have her name on it really big or be really tacky.

The only thing left for celebs to pimp out now are condoms. I nominate Paris for that one.

Ugh....it's the same masculine look....very unattractive. I liked her chin-length bob, too bad she got rid of it. She looks like a guy now.

I think the umbrella line is savvy, but makes her seem hard-up.
