Default Ellen Page not interested in stardom

Juno star Ellen Page has insisted that she is not interested in being a celebrity.

The Canadian actress, who is nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her role in the teen pregnancy comedy, said she wants to avoid the Hollywood lifestyle.

She told MSN: "I don't want that. I think if you want it and you want to live that way, you can. And you can also choose to totally not live that way. I'm from Nova Scotia. I don't know, it's just not me. And I think you can avoid it.

"I'm [acting] because I feel really passionate. If I wanted to be in LA and do that thing, I could do that. But Halifax is my homebase."

The 20-year-old added that she finds the acclaim she has received for the role "surreal", saying: "I just wanted to play this character so badly, and to be sitting here and knowing that it's actually happened is very bizarre... I feel so grateful, it's ridiculous. I don't really know what's going on.

"I love acting, and to be able to do what I love to do and make money at the age of 20 is absurd. I feel so lucky sometimes."

^Me too. It's hard to stay yourself when it's too easy to sell out, and believe what you are hearing about yourself.

Awesome! I'm glad her head is on straight.

BTW all of you guys have to see JUNO. It is seriously the best movie I've seen in years. Its is insanely funny. Joke after joke...that you don't catch on the first watch because your too busy laughing at the line before...its that good. I've seen it about four times already. See it.

^Thanks. I've been meaning to go and rent it, but I keep forgetting. I don't even know what it's all about, but I've heard nothing but good things about it.

Yes! One of the best from last year I think.

Fox Searchlight always brings the sweetest surprise of the year.
First Sideways, then Little Miss Sunshine and now this lovely Juno.

Sure, it's nice that she's grounded and all, but... Does anyone else find her painfully boring? She is a total let down on the red carpet and at the awards shows.

Yes I do. I thought I was the only person in the world not to care for her. She tries so hard to be edgy and cool in interviews. She tries to be like Michael Cerra who is naturally charming, but just fails. I don't know, she bugs me.

I can already see the Vanity Fair headlines:

Pregnant, anorexic, and addicted to drugs.
Hello mother fucker! when you ask a question read also the answer instead of asking another question on an answer who already contain the answer of your next question!

She was very good in 'Hard Candy'...

Haven't seen Juno yet but I've heard nothing but good things...
