New grandpa Lionel Richie 'extremely proud' of Nicole Richie
Lionel Richie is a proud new grandfather – though he's still getting used to his new status, the singer said in a statement Tuesday.
"While it may take me a moment to adjust to being called grand dad, I am extremely happy and proud of Nicole and Joel," Richie says, referring to the birth of his granddaughter.
"Harlow Winter Kate Madden, the newest and most beautiful addition to the Richie clan, is a lucky little girl," he added. "She was surrounded by a great deal of love at that hospital as she entered the world. Nicole and Joel are going to be wonderful parents."
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden welcomed their daughter on Friday.
Madden, 28, posted a message on his Web site Monday, saying that their daughter "looks so much like her mom its crazy," and expressing appreciation for all the well wishes they have received.

As irrelevant as this may be...I'm still completely baffled as to how this woman was able to conceive in the first place...

Well, this is how it works: first daddy kisses mommy. Then maybe twiddles her a bit with fingers, tongue or some other body part. She gets a bit excited, warm and moist, then he gets excited, warm and engorged and next thing you know his thingy is in her thingy, they're swinging from the rafters, baby batter goes everywhere and poof...a baby is in the making.

Okay, you are lucky I have a sense of humor...
I meant in terms of the fact that she was like...80 lbs at some point before getting pregnant and definately did not appear to be someone who would even still be menstruating...

Women that are in FAR WORSE condition than Nicole give birth everyday. Check out a little place called Ethiopia and you will see women giving birth all the time.

She was in & out of the hospital too fast to have had a c-section.
Yeah. She went home a few hours after the baby was born. I don't think the hospital would have let her leave so quickly if she'd just had surgery.

I agree because Christina has just left hospital 3 days after giving birth by c-section [ Douche -17 are reporting]. So there is no way they would let Nicole leave in a few hours if she had a c-section.
