Andrew Morton makes some explosive allegations in his new book, Tom Cruise: An Unauthorized Biography (out Tuesday). Among them: wife Katie Holmes signed a contract to commit to Scientology and that her father brokered a high-paying pre-nup.
Us Weekly distills the accusations in its latest issue, on newsstands now.
Morton claims Cruise had Holmes sign a document before they started dating that allowed "Scientologists full control over her life." The alleged document required Holmes to "turn only to Scientology's treatments" for herself and her children's welfare and "must never use psychiatric care or psychiatric drugs."
Morton maintains that Holmes' father, Martin, an attorney, negotiated a pre-nup that would award her $3 million for each year of their marriage.
Holmes' rep had no comment and the Church of Scientology told Us, "Ms. Holmes never signed any agreement."
Holmes – praised for her glam makeover – recently congratulated Nicole Kidman on her pregnancy and attended the Critics' Choice Awards.

Couldn't she have pulled in 3M/yr doing movies already? Or did she figure the marriage would boost her star power? Oops, I bet she didn't count on it backfiring this way.

If I'm not mistaken, this $3M figure only refers to the pre-nup. As in, the money she gets upon divorce. The money she got in her bearding contract and for producing Suri I'll bet anything is much more than $3M.

she looks gorgeous in that photo. I just wish she'd stop posing with her chin down to make herself appear shorter next to Tom. She lovely and tall, make the most of it!

Beeyotch, I think you hit the nail on the head. If it is truly a sham marriage, and I think it probably is, then she better be getting paid some major $$ to put up with all this crap. I'm thinking that Tom will divorce her right before their 10 year anniversary, like he did with Nicole. Isn't there some law in CA that he basically avoided when it did that to Nicole?

She had to sign it before they started dating? Sooo...he wouldn't even be seen in public with her until the whole sham marriage agreement was ironed out? Did he take her for a fertility check and insemination on the same day?

It's just all so hard to wrap my brain around.

I don't believe she's had a pre-nup for the sole reason that she CANNOT get out of this marriage. I feel she's locked in for life.

I don't believe this for so many reasons, but mostly because 1) Katie always appears deliriously in love with Tom...gushing....and she's not that good an actress and 2) I truly can't imagine anybody's parent selling their own child out like this for money.
