Former Olympic figure skater Nancy Kerrigan and her husband Jerry Solomon are expecting, the proud dad tells PEOPLE.

"We are thrilled, and she's feeling great," Solomon, 53, says of Kerrigan, 38, a 1994 silver medalist who suffered six miscarriages over eight years while trying to conceive her second child Brian, 2. The couple also have a older son Matthew, 11. "We've actually known for quite a while but didn't want to say anything because of the number of miscarriages she had in the past, so she's farther along than we might otherwise have done it. But everybody's very excited."

Everyone except, perhaps, young Brian. "Brian changes from day to day," laughs Solomon, President and CEO of StarGames, a sports marketing and entertainment company. "Sometimes he thinks it'll be fun, sometimes he doesn't like babies, sometimes he thinks he's a baby, so it's really all over. ... But he hasn't figured out yet whether he's in favor of this or not."

Meanwhile, his parents have their own topics to ponder: "We haven't decided whether we want to know the sex or not," says Solomon. "We've been debating!"

The news was first announced Sunday evening on Nancy Kerrigan's World of Skating on CN8, The Comcast Network.

^^Ahhh 1994, the good old days. My favorite part of watching Nancy Kerrigan skate was when she fell on her ass. Which, as luck would have it, happened pretty often.

6 fucking miscarriages? Christ on a cracker. Maybe if she'd had access to younger healthier sperm. But no...she had to marry "daddy". Wasn't that guy her manager (and married) before she snared him? I know she was made out to be little miss perfect goody-two shoes during that whole Olympics debaucle, but I always had a vibe that she was secretly one of those spoiled ass chicks with the propensity to turn into a raging cuntbag when she didn't get her way.

she's 38, he's 53 - hardly makes him 'daddy'.
one of my great-grandmothers had 12 or 13 miscarriages, with 2 of the babies dying shortly before due date so she had to actually give birth to them even though they were dead. it had something to do with her blood type and basically any foetus that was a different blood type than her (which was most, since her type is recessive), her body would reject. i think nowadays it's not a problem anymore but back in the day those women had a hard time staying pregnant.

Never liked her. She always did come across as phony and whiny. Sounds like someone is trying for a girl. Given her pregnancy history, she might want to just be happy with the two she has.

she's another miss goody two shoes. i was secretly happy when she was hit with a pipe. what the hell is wrong with me?

i do feel bad that she has 6 miscarriages though. that's rough.
