Tyra Banks wants to adopt

Supermodel-turned-talk show host Tyra Banks is planning to adopt a child. The 34-year-old wants to follow in the footsteps of celebrities including Madonna, Sharon Stone, and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt by opening her home to a child in need.
She says, “I’ve wanted to adopt since I was nine. I have a connection with children and they don’t have to come from my womb for me to have that connection.”

I don't think she'd be a bad mom, but I wonder if she's just putting this out there to promote herself in a positive way. Like getting a broader fan base, i.e. more advertisers, so more money.

Sometimes its hard being a celeb. Sometimes when everyone thinks you're shallow, you need to do something that REALLY REALLY super nice and DRAW A LOT OF ATTENTION TO IT IN THE PRESS!! Think Madonna, Angelina, Sharon Stone and Meg Ryan! That's Right!! Adopt the FIERCEST kid you can find!!! Miss J will teach it to walk.

Sorry, I just don't believe that. What 9yo thinks about adopting a kid some day? Doesn't ring true.
