Apple Martin 'more polite' than Chris Martin
 Rex Features
Gwyneth Paltrow's daughter Apple has been deemed "more polite" than her father Chris Martin.
Shop assistants in New York accused the Coldplay singer of being rude while the toddler impressed them with her outgoing nature.
PageSix reports that the pair were looking around the Ink Pad boutique on a recent visit to the city when the three-year-old began chatting to people nearby.
An onlooker said: "She was so cute, speaking a mile a minute and telling the clerk that her dad was taking her to see the new Alvin and the Chipmunks [movie]."
But her father did not receive such glowing praise, with the source adding: "He wasn't polite to the staff at all."

Is it possible that he was just being a normal dad letting his kid chatter away? I have this happen all the time, I go in somewhere and my son won't shut up. He's talking to people, waving, HUGGING (that one kills me, ugh) and all the while I'm just trying to move on because it makes me uncomfortable as hell! I don't want to be rude but I just smile, nod and push the cart.

^ I think you might be right. He seems a bit shy and standoffish, so he may have been uncomfortable.

Honestly, I don't believe I've ever read anything about Chris being rude - quite the opposite in fact. Isn't he known as one of the nicest and most down to earth in the business? This account really surprises me so I'm doubting it's true.

Maybe he's been married to the ice queen too long and it's rubbed off on him? Or as an anniversary gift they got matching rods up their asses

I've heard more often than not that he's an arsehole.
Apple Martin sounds so ridiculous. I was ok with 'Apple' but put it with 'Martin' and its stupid. Like Apple Martini.

She sounds so adorable, and I have notice that kids will chat you up more than parents..who are probably in a rush!

She is too young to know that the public is the enemy; they are beneath you.

He could have just been having a bad day as well. Or he could just be an asshole, who knows. All I know is that I've had a few days where if someone caught me out I could have seemed like a huge bitch because I was so stressed out or overwhelmed.

Awww... Apple sounds adorable.
Apple Martini will probably be her stripper name, though.

I love to see friendly kids. I bet she's adorable. Too bad her mom is going to turn her into Ursula the sea witch.
