Michael Jackson is reportedly in talks to embark on a three-month tour to pay off his £162.5 million debts.
The singer is understood to have met promoters AEG Live to discuss a possible tour from March to May next year.
US columnist Roger Friedman claimed that the profits of the shows will help Jackson get out of financial trouble, saying: "He is so deeply in debt and at such a crisis point in his finances that he and [publicist Raymone] Bain may be using potential proceeds from a tour as leverage for refinancing his $325 million in loans."
He added: "The refinancing was due on December 1. Not only did it not happen, but Jackson is now in default on $300 million secured by his Neverland Ranch."
It was reported in October that Jackson would lose the property within 90 days if he did not pay back a $23 million loan. However, Bain later denied the claims, insisting that Jackson had refinanced the loan in 2006 and was in the process of doing so again.
Jackson and his four brothers are scheduled to play a Jackson Five reunion show in Atlanta on New Year's Eve.

Does he realize that he'd actually have to go out on stage and perform?

That is exactly what is going to happen.
He would make more money as a carnival side show freak at this point.

How the hell did he get into so much debt? I mean, I know how. He's a big spender...but shouldn't one of his finacial advisors have stopped him at some point. He's never going to be able to pay back his debts.

I'm not surprised MJ's in debt. He used to spend money like it was water. Not to mention, paying off that kid for the first molestation charge, and then spending the money for his lawyers at his trial. And paying for the upkeep of Neverland. All of that will put anybody in debt.
But he's still big overseas, so he'll draw crowds. Here in America, not so much. Except for the psycho Jackson fantards.

Good lord, imagine being in a venue with a bunch of MJ fantards. I shudder at the thought.

MJ's rabid fans frighten me. I mean frighten me to the point that I would lock my door if one came knocking. And I'm astouded by his level of debt. So, basically he's completely broke, which means he's just like the rest of us. HAHAHA
And I'd love to see him take the tour money and run. His fans would chase him down and rip his face off, or what he has left of it.

There was a time when I was one of those MJ fantards. I mean I cried when his hair caught fire. I had posters on my wall of him and Prince(who knew out of the 2 Prince was the most normal one). I had the glove, the jacket, and yes even a stuffed monkey named Bubbles, but shoot me I was 7-8 years old.I wouldn't go see him for free now!! Him or R. Kelly damn molesters!!
