Default Oprah to soccer moms "Vote Barack Obama"

Quote:
Let's just hope Barak Obama remains more poplar with Oprah than James Frey did. I think he will, hope he will, for his sake. It'sobviously huge when Oprah endorses anything- hello book clubs, Oprah's favorite things, hello Barack Obama(!)
I read somehwere some time a long time ago that if Oprah, herself, had any interest in running for office, she would be a force to reckon with her because her loyal viewers create that big of a base... I sometimes wonder if Oprah is a more powerful influence on these ladies than their husbands...
Anyway, as Oprah doesn't want to run for office, whoever she endorses is pretty much strealing all of her political capital and getting a huge boost.
It should be very, very interesting to see what happens to his campaign now that he's been Oprah-dorsed.

anyone who would let a celebrity sway their vote should officially have their voting rights revoked

I hope Barack is strong enough NOT to end up in her pocket because,
really, what could be worse than Oprah's megalomaniacal ego running
the nation too through a mouthpiece president?

If he needs her to be heard, then he may not be a strong enough candidate.
Besides, he if he wants it bad enough (The Secret) he'll just win!

I don't think he needs her. But if she wants to endorse him, he'd be a fool (or at least look like an ungracious ass) not to take advantage. I would hardly hold that against him. It's the gay-bashing preacher he let himself sit in the same room with with awhile back that really disappointed me. He should have gotten up and left when that dude started speaking.

The Oprah's endorsement is enough to lose my vote.

Ditto. I am a Democrat, but even if I was considering voting for him, seeing Oprah backing him would automatically make me go for old Hillary C. Oprah just wants to be invited to the inauguration so she can get even more camera time. Watch - if he does win she will devote an entire show to her backing him, and how she was the reason he won.

True. And anybody who let's Oprah sway their vote needs to be forced into exile.

Oprah is such a cult leader. I can't stand her and her Alaskan-sized ego.

Sad thing is, women all over the place look to Oprah like a God. Whatever she hawks on her show goes from small-time to big-time in no time. Whatever books she suggests become bestsellers. This is part of the problem with our society, and why we're in the position we're in now. Independent thought has become a cliche and something to be feared.

Make that three. Having the Big O will be a big help but I don't think even Miss O on his side can get him the nomination.
