Default Kylie Minogue as she's never been seen before

As Kylie Minogue approaches her 40th birthday, it's clear she's feeling sexier than ever.

The singer was dressed to thrill in a risqué sequinned top honouring the female form for the cover of Q magazine.

Kylie has revealed she is looking forward to reaching the milestone: "I'm not scared of turning 40. I think it's going to be quite liberating.

"I've always heard that as a woman, 49 is when you really come into your own and I think it's happening."

The pop princess, who recently launched her comeback with the release of the new single 2 Hearts, will mark the May occassion with a world tour.

Her confidant William Baker, whom she describes as her gay "husband", recently revealed she is planning a series of extravagant concerts in 2008.

Back to black: Kylie is preparing for a world tour to mark her 40th birthday in May next year

He told The Sun: "I'm heading back into the studio with Kylie in February to start training for the tour we want to do in June.

"It's going to be fabulous. I have a couple of ideas but they need a bit of work. It takes ages to pull it all together so we want to take our time on it."

Sources say doctors have warned breast cancer Kylie about pushing her body too hard.

An insider said: "Kylie is determined to do this tour. She was upset that she had to pull out of the last one - the Showgirl tour - when she received her cancer diagnosis.
"If it was up to her, she'd do an endless string of dates but doctors say she needs to make herself priority and takes more time to relax.

Just a random thought. Is anybody else troubled at the idea of women thinking they have to be sexy forever? Like that's the biggest thing that matters. It's gone way past being comfortable with your body. Now I'm not saying once you turn 40 you have to dress like a grandma or anything.

But this constant fixation with sexy really goes to show how shallow these women really are. Without their bodies they have nothing to offer. I find that sad.

Sad and desperate. And plastic. That teeshirt she's wearing is hideous and vulgar and not sexy at all.

The other terrible thing is that most girls i see around me of late have that same
mentality. It's all about looks. I'm too fat, this outfit doesn't flatter my figure,
my boobs will look terrible when i'm old (that is in their 30s WTF ),
i'm having cellulites i'm so going to die of shame, my stretch marks are ugly and
i have to wear clothes that will cover it, my ass is too big and saggy, and on and on.

    I think Kylie is a try-hard.
Her team have to keep reminding everyone that she is supposedly sexy.
If she's so sexy, they wouldn't have to keep on about it and try and brainwash everyone into thinking that.
If people thought she was sexy, they would say it without any prompting.
Most people I know find her to be incredibly fake and Joan Riverish.
So ....I guess the constant media harping about her being sexy isn't really working. Love the "photoshopped within an inch of her life" pics.

I agree with all the above posts. Kylie is constantly reminding us she is sexy, and we better not forget that.

What are we to expect when Kylie turns 50?

Well it seems while Kylie is trying to convince everyone that she is still sexy y'all at 40 it appears that she doesn't extend the same courtesy to her fans.

Kylie's department of youth - Kylie Minogue … wants glam fans.

We all know celebrity worship is aspirational, but surely the stars owe even their
dowdiest and most loyal fans special consideration when it comes to sharing the love.
Apparently not in Kylie Minogue's case.

In London this week, producers of a special Kylie television event due to air on ITV n Britain next month have put out a "casting" call for audience members.
But clearly knowing every word to Kylie's hits is not a prerequisite.

"ITV Productions are currently casting an audience for a new ITV 1 one-off special
The Kylie Show," reads an email that went around London this week and was passed on to PS. "We are looking for 17- to 30-year-olds who are not only dancers but are also Kylie fans

You will need to be available on Sunday 4th and Monday 5th of November 2007
between 10am and 8pm and you will be required to join in, dancing and cheering, as Kylie performs a range of songs, old and new, on a series of different sets."

Nothing unusual in that, but the clanger is hidden in the fine print.

"We are casting urban, individual, funky, glamorous-looking people to be part of the
featured audience. If you are interested and fit the bill please contact us.
    This is a
non-paid event. However, it will be a great experience and refreshments will be provided."

Now, considering Miss Minogue would be ineligible to be in her own audience
(she hits 40 next May) and that a 17-year-old would have been born three years too late to have even heard Locomotion as a newborn, the specific audience requirements seem somewhat misplaced.

^^^ She's worried that if the average age of the audience is too old, it taints her by association.

I will be 40 next just after Kylie turns 40 so I am working on getting myself in shape so the big 40 doesn't hit so hard.

Just a random thought. Is anybody else troubled at the idea of women thinking they have to be sexy forever?

Yes, me too. I am interested in holding on to my health but I intend to age gracefully. Make the most of myself but no freak-outs over wrinkles and saggy bits
Never explain—your friends do not need it,

And your enemies will not believe it anyway

And as an unfortunate result, many have resorted to having endless cosmetic procedures done that, in my opinion, often make them look more freaky than sexy.

My my, didn't we all just dip our tongues in some acid today.

Well, Kylie isn't exactly known for her talent so I am sure she fears when her looks go, her "career" will follow. It's not like she has that career as a rocket scientist to fall back on.
