The Fight Club star, 43, believes it comes from being born in Oklahoma in the southern US.
Brad, 43, said: “I call it a congenital sadness. It’s something I feel in my grandparents, in the people I’ve met, in a southern way of life.
“It’s something pervasive, an undercurrent.”
But he said he was kept happy by lover ANGELINA JOLIE, 32 — who he called an “amazing” mother — and their four kids.
Brad admitted he sings them children’s songs — including Wheels On The Bus.

It seems everyday he's in the papers discussing his family life and the kids. Aren't these the same celebs who claim they want privacy?
He's not even mentioning the Jesse James movie for which is is supposed to be promoting!
