Troubled Hollywood actor Owen Wilson has shown for the first time the scars from his suicide bid.

The Starsky and Hutch actor, 38, showed a toned body as he took to LA's Venice Beach with his brother Andrew, only weeks after taking an overdose of pills and slashing his wrists.

The Wedding Crashers comedian, still looked tired and dishevelled, but appeared peaceful as he larked aroud in the water. Scroll down for more...

Wilson spent a week at Cedars-Sinai hospital in LA, after he attempted suicide at his Santa Monica home on 26 August.
His former lover Kate Hudson was caught affectionately kissing and cuddling her new boyfriend Dax Shepard, also a comedian, during an outing in Los Angeles.

Friends have said that he had been deeply upset since splitting with the actress, the daughter of Goldie Hawn, shortly before Christmas last year.
The couple, who met while filming You, Me And Dupree, had a six-month fling that ended Hudson's marriage to actor Chris Robinson. Wilson ended the relationship with Miss Hudson but friends said he had been regretting the decision since she began dating Shephard..

Hmmm, okay, I'd posted the two first exact same pix earlier today in the Latest
Photos section, but apparently you need moderator's conscent before you can
post there, so in this section you beat me to it.
It's still rather unusual for a male to attempt suicide this way. Usually men
choose much more violent ways to commit suicide and women resort to
cutting their wrists or taking a pill overdose.....
I'm not a fan of the guy at all, but I hope he gets his problems sorted out
and is able to move beyond it all.

This probably has a lot more to do with his struggling to accept his true sexuality than it ever had to do with a girl. In any event, I feel sorry for him and want to give him a big hug.

yeap, noticed that too. i once read that most people that cut across don't really want to kill themselves that it's more like a cry of help and not a "real" suicide attempt

He was in Royal Tannenbaums ... he knew how to do it for real if he wanted too.

He was fried on drugs and prob. didn't even know what he was doing. It doesn't even look like he needed stitches to close those.
