Beth Ditto campaigns to ban size zero
Beth Ditto has launched a campaign to prevent clothes from being labelled "size zero".
The curvaceous rocker insisted that the US clothing size - the equivalent of a UK size four - encourages women to aspire to be "nothing".
She told Annie Mac's Radio 1 show: "It’s so obvious but so deep about our culture and what (it) says about women and their worth in their world (that) to be a size zero... is your ultimate goal.
"The biggest thing in your world is to be a nothing. That is so intense… how about getting rid of zero at all and putting a number onto it instead, even if it’s a small number?"

That's kind of dumb - there are people that are naturally 5' and 90-100lbs and don't fit into anything else.
Beth Gitto is not curvaceous - she is quite overweight (fat).
To be curvy (hourglass) one would need to posses a waist line - she consists mainly of fat rolls.

Well, she's not talking about those 10% who fit into a size zero naturally. She's talking about the other 90% who do something very unhealthy to fit into jeans like that.

Oh I understand that (and agree with it) but she's not the person to do it because she too is unhealthy but just in opposite direction. It just reads as - ban zero it's unhealthy - be overweight and unhealthy instead.

If it wasn’t for fat people and their insecurities with own bodies and size, retailers wouldn’t be forced to change sizing to make an illusion those people don’t rise on the number scale with every hamburgers they ate. Then there wouldn’t be a size zero. Cause every time they lower the numbers for people like her, they always have to hit the bottom border. Which is size zero and if we won’t boycott people like Betty and the fact that XXXL will never be L no matter what companies print, we will see even size – 6 soon.
I'm a natural size zero and I don't want end up on minus scale just because someone isn't able to live with the size on the upper part of the scale.

I've honestly not seen a lot of UK size 4 clothes in the stores. They usually start around size 8 in some of the bigger department stores. I might find a 6 if I am lucky.

Beth honey, I think you need to deal with your own personal issues before launching attacks on others, thank you!

What's the problem with Beth Ditto? If she's ok with herself and her weight (every woman should be) why does she care about the size-zero girls?!?
I hate when randon wannabe celebs who know nothing about that kind of weight problems open their f*cking mouths just to say the first thing that cross their minds! Like if the world's constantly waiting for her interesting pearls of wisdom!!

I don't think that starving down to an unnatural size is healthy but neither is porking up to an unnaturally hefty size. That said, if Beth Ditto doesn't want the media and society picking on women for being overweight, surely she should extend the same courtesy to the thinner counterpart of the sisterhood?

Yeah! There was a great Beth Ditto thread earlier this year where she had a troll (Ditto herself?) defending her stance. It was hilarious, and resulted in said Ditto Troll being banned. A hilarious time was had by all, I think.
"The biggest thing in your world is to be a nothing. That is so intense… how about getting rid of zero at all and putting a number onto it instead, even if it’s a small number?"
So it's not even the weight issue per se she has a problem with? She just wants to change the "0" to a "1"?! And this would make a woman who is currently "nothing" become a "something"? Whatever, Beth.............
