ok, so i did this for Paris when SS made fun of her at the Movie Awards. This time it was Britney who took the punches at the Video Music Awards.
I thought SS's comments were funny yes, but a bit out of line perhaps. I mean making fun of Britney is one thing, but her kids are totally innocent. Calling them mistakes, nationally, i mean, come one. That's just plain out LOW!!!
I realize that i am the same girl who felt sorry for Paris but i cant be the only one who thought this inappropriate.......though slightly funny.
Perhaps im just super sensitive.

I thought her stab about being 25 and accomplishing all she ever will accomplish was funny and right-on. About the kids thing....I didn't really care, I'm not particularly sensitive to those types of things, but I didn't find it funny either, it was just dumb. But I think if it referred to anyone else and their "little mistakes", the audience would actually think it was funny, because it wouldn't be true. But with Britney, it hits too close to home.

Britney's the one who called them mistakes. Sarah was just coming back with "well, they are cute mistakes". Not so bad.

Nope. Britney parades those children around like a new purse and she treats them like the latest accessory or decoration. Like I said in a previous post, what SS said is no worse than what these children have been exposed to by their own mother.

Re: Silverman: She's rude, classless and offensive - she tries to come across as "funny and outrageous" but doesn't have the delivery nor creativity to do so (really, enough with the "Jewish people have big noses/some other stereotype" schick). As someone said, she may try to be outrageous but only has the "guts" to pick on easy targets such as Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
IHMO: Silverman's comments about Spears were entirely mean-spirited. First, the comments about the kids were uncalled for. Second, considering how everyone knew how bad the performance was, Silverman's comments were like kicking someone while he/she was already down. Third, Spears (though I agree that Spears'scurrent position is entirely of her own doing) seems pathetic and 'lost;' like January said, it hits too close to home to be funny. At least with Hilton, it's like trying to knock the bitchy, backstabbing popular girl down several pegs; picking on Spears is like making comments about the appearance of the awkward girl with acne scars and braces who's trying too hard to be liked.

I can't stand Sarah Silverman!
Yes, she can be a bit entertaining but she just goes to far and never knows when to stop. Bringing Brits kids into it was totally uncalled for

Mean...? Yep! Cruel...? Yep! Hilarious...? YEP!!!
C'mon really... Britney parades herself and those kids around making a mockery of parenting. She makes them part of her public persona by taking them out to flash restaurants at 11pm for dinner... and selling the photos of them... fair game???... yeah I think so... maybe under normal circumstances I wouldn't say that but then how serious is Britney about responsible parenting...?
This is a stupid spoiled brat who flashes her cooch every other day, wears shirts/dresses that show her ass every other day, she shimmies around on stage in a sparkly bra & undies... yeah, talk about mistakes...

It was totally appropriate.
The only thing not appropriate, though, was that joke about her children.

Sarah Silverman is so not funny and it kills me that she apparently thinks she's hilarious.
It was tasteless, even though it could have been potentially funny given the material Britney gives everyone by acting like an idiot. If Silverman had ridiculed her another way that didn't include the kids, or rather if another comedian had made the joke it would have been funny.

I don't see the point of talking about those...children...Britney is worthless...and I'm sure she knows that...Silverman is an unintelligent..unfunny..and very unattractive to make it even worst...she doesn't have any class..SO I GUESS her and Britney do have a lot in common!!

But if you think about it, what if someone pointed out Salma Hayek or Naomi Watt's "little mistake?" I think they would laugh about it, as would others, because its almost endearing, and nobody actually thinks worse of them as mothers. But with Britney, its like a stone truth. Since thats the way she views them, and treats them for that matter, its almost like "we shouldn't mention that." I think its because people know its true, and its sad. But the joke itself was not insensitive, just that some people find it insensitive towards Britney. But she's the one who treats her kids like crap, so who cares?
