The actress reveals her heartbreak as Isabella and Connor choose Tom Cruise's religion over their mother.

Nicole Kidman has finally spoken of her anguish over her estrangement from her two Scientology-raised children and her feelings of failure as a mother. She is also threatening to reveal the darkest secrets of her marriage to ex-husband Tom Cruise.

With her adopted kids Isabella, 14, and Connor, 12, preferring to stay in the US with their Scientology minders rather than visit their own mother in Australia, Nicole has alluded to her antipathy towards the controversial religion.

"I don't want to be the one discussing Scientology," a wounded Nicole warily told US magazine Vanity Fair when asked about her children's indoctrination during her latest interview. "My kids want to live in LA and they're at a certain age where they dig in their heels."

While Isabella and Connor briefly visited their mum in Australia earlier this year, they have chosen to spend their holidays at a Church of Scientology camp in Oregon.

A former Scientologist says the camp in Portland, where the kids are holed up, is really an intense learning program for Scientology teachings. "The summer camp is part of Scientology's get-them-while-they're-young campaign," says the ex-member…

It's interesting that she's starting to talk about things. I wonder when she will be shut down by the freaks.

Her kids are 14 & 12 - is she saying she doesn't have a say in their lives anymore? I guess when kids are raised by nannies these are the comments you hear from the parents. Interesting.

i dont get it..she is the adult.. why wouldnt she go see them?? i wouldnt want to fly 24 hrs to australia if i were the connor & bella..and why, to hang out with my moms druggie husband??

i wouldnt have moved to another country away from my kids either..i just dont get it...and now she is talking about them to the press..why so everyoe can feel sorry for her??? and blame the kids?? whatever

i think she's lost those 2 kids to the midget and his fucked up 'religion'. that's probably why she's been so vocal about wanting children of her own. kind of a new start, a second family that won't get sucked into a scary cult. i thinks he's calculating enough that she figures, it's too much of an uphill battle to fight the midget just to get to see the kids more and to have more of a say in their upbringing, it's probably easier starting over.

If there is a visitation schedule that has been appointed by the courts, you can't just pop in whenever you feel like it [unless the custodial parent agrees beforehand]. Also, Nicole does work and has obligations to the people she works with.

I really hate that she gets bashed as the bad parent all the time. When do we ever see their psycho father with them anytime that isn't an arranged photo op to make himself look good?

I am betting those kids had to go to this camp and that it wasn't something they preferred over going to Australia.

i feel sorry for the kids but after years and years of scientology indoctrination, they probably don't have a clue about what they really want. i wouldn't be surprised if the camp story is true and they chose to go to the camp rather than visit their mother. they've been brainwashed from the get-go.

I agree. I'm sure she's not the most selfless mum in the world, but quite frankly the thought of their dad raising /controlling them is far more scary.

Maybe Tom reacted so badly towards Isabella going home with blue hair that he refused to let them go and instead shipped them off to a ''camp'' where they would have any individual ideas left sucked out of them.

I agree with you. I think Nicole is a good parent. I never used to believe that she had a contract with Tom but now...i bet she regrets agreeing to any custodial arrangements they have in place...The thing is Tom is very powerful (and was even more so before the TomKat trainwreck publicity). I bet when Nicole divorced Tom she had to agree to let him have main custody of her kids. Just a feeling i have...i feel sorry for her...she is speaking out now out of fustration (that's my guess anyway).

I bet she moved to Sydney, because she couldn't stand to only be able to see her kids when Tom allows it. I also bet that she was supervised when she did get to see them. Her move to Australia was probably meant to get her mind off the situation, because it was a lost case.

She probably signed off any rights regarding the kids off to Tom when she signed that contract back in the day, which was meant to further her career, but ended in her own personal disaster.

I have a feeling that that contract had a time limit on it and that it is about to end, which is why she starts talking now. Or by taking the kids from her, Tom lost the leverage he had on Nicole.

One way or the other, I hope we can look forward to many more juicy details to come.

I don't get how people would brand Nicole as the bad parent, when we all now what a greedy, manipulative control freak Tom is.

Well I definitely agree that a contract in regards to the children was signed by Nicole and (teeny) Tom.

I've seen quite a few photos of Nicole with Connor and Isabella in the Australian gossip rags. I'm sure they love their Mum, just as much as she loves them; but they live half-way around the world and their father is Tom Cruise.
