Default Defiant Amy Winehouse vows she's not going back to rehab-again

Troubled singer AMY WINEHOUSE has vowed to follow the advice of her hit song REHAB and never go back to a treatment facility, despite her recent alleged drug problems. The 23-year-old is currently taking time out of her pop career to focus on "health issues" following her hospitalization last month (Aug07) after three days of hard-partying. But, during a surprise appearance at Tuesday (04Sep07) night's Mercury Music Prize awards ceremony in London, Winehouse declared she has no intention of seeking expert medical treatment to combat addiction again. Speaking to British newspaper the Daily Mirror, she said, "I'm of the school of thought where, if you can't sort something out for yourself, no one can help you. Rehab is great for some people but not others." She added, "Normal people spend time thinking, 'What am I going to do with my life?' I spend my time drinking."

Spoken like a true alcoholic. I think she is allowing her addictions to define her. You should never let ANYTHING define you. Once you do that, you limit yourself and the ego takes all control. One can get clean on their own, but only if they want to.

I hope she can hang in there and find the peace she is so obviously seeking.

"They tried to make me go to rehab I said..."

    Nothing, because you're dead.

Don't forget vomiting blood all over hotel rooms, having Pete Doherty anywhere near you, OD'ing on speedballs of coke and K, looking ugly and having stupid hair.

She may change her tune with a few more near death experiences, but hell, she is only 23. Quite frankly, I don't see many alcoholics or addicts that age ready to admit that they really have a problem and believe it. If she makes it 5 or 10 years, her career will be history, she will have lost everything, her health will be much worse than it is now and her relationships ruined. By then, she may be a little more willing. The old gift of desperation changes a lot of alcoholics/addicts tune about recovery.

And Rehab would be a most appropriate funeral song, in her case. Do you think they could fit that beehive in a casket?

Surprise, Amy makes another poor decision. She really is becoming annoying - stubbornly in denial, totally selfish and arrogant. I'm afraid she isn't coming across as a very nice person. And even worse, she is beginning to bore!

I think they're re-releasing Frank in November. So if she can hang on until November then she'll have two good albums. I've head from someone on the UK that it's actually a pretty good album. Not as good as Back to Black, but still pretty good.

She wants to die I think.
When your daughter plays "House," she pretends to be an annoying doctor with a pill-addiction and a limp.

I think you're right. It's like she wants to be immortalized by the fact that she died before her time, a la Janis Joplin or Jim Morrison. The sad truth is that she's nowhere near their success...
