Jesus, it's been ten years. The only people who should care at this point are her relatives. What a tacky, fake display, and waste of money.

I suspect the palace spin doctors thought it was a good idea because the family screwed up so badly in PR terms in the immediate aftermath of Diana's death.

Ιn the gallery next to the palace Diana,s memorabilia outsell all others 10 to one, lady working there told me.
I saw it too,its Diana first,Wills second, tourists buy cards, books and stuff,Diana is still the goose that lays the golden eggs.
They still profit,so they keep the story alive..i am cynical,i know..

On the one hand, it's a 10 year memorial, it's not as if the Princes do this every year. On the other, I doubt they'll do this much again at 15 and 20 years. The memorial maybe, but probably not the concert and the other nonsense.

During the days after her death and during her funeral, it seemed like the world literally shut down. This is one of those events people tend to remember exactly where they were when they heard she'd passed, so I think the memorial, at least, was appropriate. I imagine it will be a private observance from now on, though.

Her life to me was very sad. Diana was so famous. Definitely the most famous woman of the century. I can't even imagine how smothered she must have been and how it must've felt being her. Her life, even though it seemed glamorous, probably wasn't that great. Maybe now she's getting the peace she deserved.

At least Diana left her mark in the world. That's more than what most people get.

"Actually, she would have been astonished to learn that her former husband had married his longtime mistress," Monckton wrote.

What crap! WHY would she have been astonished by this? That he married his true love when the opportunity arose?

I agree. I remember it like it was just yesterday.
