Madonna's new song has allegedly flopped
Quote:
London, England (BANG) - Madonna's preview of her new song has allegedly flopped. Partygoers at the 'Pop Rocks' party at New York's Club 13 cheered when it was announced they would hear an advanced copy of the new Madonna track from her forthcoming album, but were disappointed, claiming it was too similar to Britney Spears' 'Slave 4 U'.
A source said of the song which was produced by Pharrell Williams: "Everyone cheered and was excited, but when it started playing, few were dancing."
The source added to the New York Post newspaper: "The song sounds almost exactly like Britney's 'Slave 4 U' which Pharrell also produced. The response was tepid at best. They need to go back to the drawing board with that one."
Meanwhile, the 49-year-old singer will be visited by a Malawi court-appointed official next month to assess whether she and husband Guy Richie are suitable parents for David Banda.
Madonna is seeking to adopt the 23-month-old boy she fostered from a Malawi orphanage last October.
Malawi official Penstone Kilembe - who had previously been refused permission to travel to Britain - announced yesterday: "There has been a change of mind by my government minister and she has allowed me to leave for the U.K. on September 4 and I am expected to spend two weeks."

it's time to let go, Madonna.
You are not hip anymore.

Surely with her great songwriting skills, Madonna could write an original song?

Oh, well. She can always bring out a greatest hits album and relive her glory days.

Yep, when the best you've got to give is nearly as good as one of Britney's worst it's time to retire... gracefully.
And quit that freaky work-out regime while you're at it, Mads!

I haven't liked any of her songs for ages. I have the Immaculate Collection cd and that was as good as Madonna got for me.

Her music (and voice) has gone completely down hill. I listened to another 'preview' (leaked to public?) of an upcoming song of her's on a radio show a couple days ago. It sounded a bit like Justin Timberlake's style...but, well, crappier...hated it. I'm very embarrassed for her.

..I like to think that she died after Like A Prayer, and was replaced by some sort of record industry roboclone, which couldn't quite manage to recapture the magic. However, I was a pre-teen during those early albums; I've only enjoyed them whilst drunk and nostalgic and overly girly in recent years. Totally LOATHE her nowadays.

I liked her "Confessions On A Dancefloor" but that's because it was a good catchy dance album. I don't think Madonna would be that stupid to try to copy Shitney's crappy songs.....right?

Yup, she's been flopping along. Her live shows are always spectacular. An irritation is that she's 49 and the record producers still "manufacture" that little girl voice from yesteryear. She lost my attention long ago.

As long as her muscles aren't flopping, she doesn't seem to care about anything else. Just goes along with whatever style she thinks will sell.

Poor Madge. She lost me after the Ray of Light album when she came back harping the Music album into the floor and did all those terrible covers like American Pie and Beautiful Stranger, both of which make my ears bleed. Plus the only catchy thing about Hung Up was the sample which is put to better use in Hammer to the Heart by the Tamperer feat Maya.
I just wish she would put out a second Immaculate Collection that has True Blue, it's the only real good old song missing from the first IC.

She looks very good in that picture, though!

I loved her Ray of Light CD! After that, I have ignored her music. I have not heard a single song from Confessions From a Dancefloor.
