Britney Spears’ ex wants more child support

Britney Spears’ ex wants her to cough up more child support.

Kevin Federline’s attorney sent a letter to Spears saying that he wanted to discuss how much money he receives monthly, according to The Blast.

The “Toxic” singer currently sends him $20,000 a month for their two sons. That amount was decided on during their divorce — before her Las Vegas residency where she raked in $475,000 a show. Spears, 36, reportedly brought home $15 million per year from her Planet Hollywood gig, according to the outlet.

Federline did not say how much he now wants, but he previously said that co-parenting with spears was “really easy.”

Federline, 39, is being represented by Mark Vincent Kaplan — who was busted for a DUI while representing Stephen Collins during his child molestation scandal.

Spears and Federline tied the knot in 2004 and welcomed Sean Preston, now 12, and Jayden James, now 11, before their 2007 split.

Reps for Spears and Federline didn’t get back to us.

Well in all fairness 20,000 a month could never support a family of 3 or 4. Oh wait, I'm thinking of 20,000 a year...

Honestly, depending on what he's expected to cover with that $20,000 it may need to be increased. If he uses it for school tuition, extracurricular activities, rent/mortgage and so on... it may indeed be time for an increase.

When there's a big disparity in incomes between parents, generally child support monies are higher to provide the same standard of living between both parents' homes.

It's probably appropriate to take a look again. It's been a while and she's doing well.

It says they co-parent. I wonder if the boys are with dad more than 50% of the time? I can't remember the last time I saw a photo of her with them.

If that 20,000 is going towards private schooling, as said above, then I agree it's worth taking a look at. I agree about it balancing out the two homes and if a raise in child support does that, then so be it. But I doubt Britney's lifestyle and home is suddenly going to improve by that much and cause a further gap or divide in standard of living between the two homes. It's not like Britney is a 'regular' person who suddenly had income go from 40k/yr to 100k/yr, which would make a bigger impact.

I wonder what he pays Shar in child support for their two children. Are they living the same lifestyle as his boys with Britney? He also has two younger ones with his current wife.

If I was the one on the paying end, I guess my concern would be that the child support for my two was also paying for 4 other kids.

That said, I think he's still the primary caregiver and presumably always will be. It's been 10 years since their divorce, and the kids are getting older so their expenses may have increased.

Me too, but he had all 6 of them in a short timespan. I'm surprised he stopped having kids, maybe his fertility declined.

If they're in private school that 20k a month will be gone in 10 seconds. Plus, they live in Ca. And she's been doing way better than she was when they initially split and for a long time now.

If that's what he's been getting all this time and only just now asking for more then she's been lucky.
