Default Al Jarreau, 75, Grammy Winning Singer, Has Died

    Sad day.

Grammy-winning jazz singer Al Jarreau died Sunday morning, his manager, Joe Gordon, told Ebony Magazine. He was 76.

News of his passing comes just days after Jarreau retired from touring.

The singer was surrounded by family and friends when he died at 5:30 a.m. in Los Angeles, Gordon said. A small, private service was being planned.

City News Service contributed to this report.

He reminds me of my sailor days in Japan, he was very, very popular over there in the 80s and 90s.

Rest in peace Al. I sure love his music. My favorite is Moonlighting from the show with Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd.

Loved Al Jarreau and his voice. And 76 is too young. RIP, Mr. Jarreau.

This sucks, we loved him back in the day. Such a soothing voice, but not like a Norah Jones that will put you to sleep.

Oh shit, my mom is going to freak out when she hears the news. I don't know if they'll be reporting it in the papers in Scotland though and she's not really computer savvy. I remember how giddy she was when she got to see him in the early 90's. Ha, we'd have to listen to his tape all the time in the old Volvo.

He had a wonderful, soothing voice. Loved the theme from Moonlighting.

    RIP.
