Jon Gosselin is now working as a cook at T.G.I. Friday’s

Jon Gosselin has a new career.

The 39-year-old who found fame as the father of eight on TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” is the new cook at T.G.I. Friday’s in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

“He works here because he likes to cook,” Scott Trompeter, the restaurant’s general manager and friend of Gosselin, told Page Six Wednesday. “He cooks during the day for me and sometimes here and there. He’s done a great job the last couple of months. He’s part of my Friday’s family.”

Gosselin, who divorced ex-wife Kate Gosselin in 2009, works 7 to 8 hours day, three days a week at the restaurant simply because he loves to cook, Trompeter added.

“He does a great a job but I know one thing for certain, he does donate his check every week,” Trompeter said, although he couldn’t name which organizations are receiving Gosselin’s wages.

While cooking is Gosselin’s focus a few days a week, he’s not neglecting his deejaying career: he occasionally plays a set at Friday’s.

As for his life outside the restaurant, Gosselin’s still a family man.

“I know for a fact that he really cares about his kids. I know he enjoys the time he gets with them,” Trompeter said.

Since when does TGI Friday's have DJ nights?

They had them in San Diego; I knew one of the DJs. This was back in the 90s, though.

Um, shouldn't he be paying child support for all those children?

According to various news outlets, he was broke and in need of a huge cash infusion so why would he donate his paychecks? Sounds like a face-saving maneuver "he just cooks for me out of the goodness of his heart, he doesn't need the money".

I'm just appreciating it being a TGI Fridays. It's just slightly less nauseating than Chilis.

If this was the late 90's, I was hanging out at TGIF downtown San Diego for happy hour. My hubs deejayed at several other bars/restaurants around the corner from TGIF's so we would head over there after drinks. He was friends with all the downtown deejays. That was when TGIF had good food and drinks.

Back to Jon Gosselin- I too thought this douche was flat broke? He has 8 fucking kids how in the hell can he donate his pay checks?? Deejays get paid like $250 a night at gigs at TGIF's this is NOT Vegas. hardly rolling in dough to hand his check over to a charity. Smdh.

Is "donate" a euphemism for "pays child support"? Like CornFlakegrl said, there's no shame in working.

^^I took it as a euphemism for "getting paid under the table", so the taxman and/or Kate doesn't lay their clammy hands on it.

This drives me crazy. A few summer's ago I had the pleasure (hard eyeroll) of listening to a group of soon-to-be graduates talk about how demeaning jobs are. Somehow answering phones, getting coffee, filing, and earning an honest paycheck is demeaning. It's crazy.

He should have had the gonads to say "NO" to Kate when she wanted another after the twins. Maybe she could have went back to being a nurse for a few years first. I can't even see her as a nurse, frankly. Not unless it were in a private practice doctor's office where she was the only one working for him. Or maybe her and one younger nurse who could do the dirty work while she ran the desk and ordered people around.
