Kirk Cameron: Wives Should 'Honor and Respect and Follow Their Husband's Lead'

Kirk Cameron is once again sparking conversations with his conservative views on marriage.

In a recent interview with the Christian Post, the former Growing Pains star said, "Wives are to honor and respect and follow their husband's lead, not to tell their husband how he ought to be a better husband. When each person gets their part right, regardless of how their spouse is treating them, there is hope for real change in their marriage."

Cameron – an outspoken evangelical Christian who has been married to actress Chelsea Noble, 51, since 1991 – is currently on a tour called "Love Worth Fighting For," a Bible-based event intended to teach others how to "strengthen and encourage your marriage."

In the interview, he added that "a lot of people don't know that marriage comes with instructions," and "we find them right there in God's word."

The 45-year-old father of six isn't the only one in his family with these strong beliefs. His younger sister, Candace Cameron Bure, made headlines after she discussed being submissive in her marriage to former NHL pro Valeri Bure, 41.

"I love that my man is a leader," she told HuffPo Live in 2014. "I want him to lead and be the head of the family and those decisions, major decisions, do fall on him. It doesn't mean I don't voice my opinion. It doesn't mean I don't have an opinion. I absolutely do."

Added Cameron Bure, 40: "But it is very difficult to have two heads of authority."

I know, right?! This is all very "Duggar-ish". All these nutjobs think and talk the same. They take it all out of context.

I was a fan of Kirk's back in the 80's, on "Growing Pains" and that cute movie he did with Dudley Moore. He was a doll! Then he "got religion". I say it that way because if he truly had a sincere salvation experience in Christianity, he wouldn't still be so prideful. He then got all self righteous and was being a dick on the set of "Growing Pains". Even got one actress fired because when he found out she had posed for Playboy years before, he refused to go back on the set until she was gone.

I cannot stand this guy. He gives Christians a bad name.

And Chelsea looks tired, btw. I'd look rough too if I was married to this douchebag.

I missed the segment, but saw a clip of his sister trying to defend/explain what he meant on The View. Remember, Candace wrote her own book where she stated she is submissive to her husband.

Are mad fundies allowed to have blowjobs? Or is that a waste of God's little soldiers?

I can deal with her better than him. At least she's nice and seems like a decent, kind person. Kirk? Pfft!
