It's the same deal like The Sound of Music live -- but on Fox this time.

Not a fan of these live TV musicals. On the one hand, it gives people who don't get to see theatre productions the opportunity to see a live performance, but they are such over-hyped, miscast messes. I'd rather go to a community theatre production.

One criticism of The Sound of Music, (aside from Carrie Underwood), was that it followed the stage production, not the movie which was more familiar. I personally prefer the movie version of Grease, but it looks like they may be following the stage production.

Ugh Julianne Hough. Wasn't it enough that she helped ruin Footloose?

I wanted to see this, I would've watched it. I'll try to catch it if they rerun it.

It was ok. I hated Julie whatsherfaces singing. Vanessa was really good. I thought the dude playing Danny was too old for the part at times. Some of the casting was like WTF.

I got so irrationally angry every time I saw the commercials for this on Hulu, I had to stay the hell away from the actual show in order to protect my own sanity. Even my 15-year-old was like, oh hell no!

I had only seen a couple of ads for this assuming it was going to be a TV series. I didn't take it personally since I didn't expect it to be exactly like the movie. It was definitely a stage production and very corny. I agree the actor who played Danny just wasn't able to carry the part. I thought Julianne's voice was quite beautiful in most of the songs and a true high light was seeing the original Pinkie who played the waitress speaking with the new Pinkie, that was a tender moment. It was a fun remake but it was too corny at times and the acting on the most part just didn't seem to be heartfelt. Vanessa was good but not a Stockard Channing by any means, but she had a very good excuse, her father died the night before. It was 3 hours long and that was just too long for all the nonsense.

It just made me realize how much I loved John Travolta, ONJ, Jeff Conaway, and Stockard Channing.

Grease Live....meh. Sandy and Danny had none of the chemistry that JT and ONJ had. Kennicki was short. Like what the f.????

And even if Travolta wasn't a singer....he had feeling. That kid last night.....blah.
